New Everton Stadium

This is quite good from Colin Chong , we are five years ahead of any competitor and are in talks with Peel about buying Nelson Dock and building something “complimentary “ to BMD…

Excellent post that mate.

Good that Chong has been given a specific role back to what he was there for in the first place, sounds like that's his area of expertise.

Sounds like TFG have wasted no time at all with seeing Nelson Dock as having great potential along with still retaining Goodison. That for me (retaining Goodison) would simply be the icing on the cake because I'm not ready to say goodbye just yet ( i don't think I ever will tbh )

Would a Nelson Dock redevelopment comprise of the area in red (approx) or would they also in-fill it (either partially or fully) like what has been done at BMD?

I think the stadium site diminishes significantly if Nelson Dock gets filled.

We can build around it, but I want that water kept.

Imagine losing this:

It cost £150 million just to fill our dock so it would have to be a pretty spectacular scheme to justify that spend for Nelson Dock. Would lose the water aesthetics on the south stand too which would be a shame.

I agree, definitely wouldn't want to lose the aesthetic of having the South Stand up against the water. However, I wonder (without being an engineering or construction expert!) would it be something that could see the club future proof the main stadium if they ever wanted to expand. Possibly do this by enlarging the South Stand. So you wouldn't necessarily need to fill in the entire dock, just "pinch" a bit of it, and use this to expand outwards?

something like this maybe? There would be enough water for the reflection whilst pinching some land to expand the South Stand.
They may also do similar with the areas in red depending on what their plans are and what the costs would be.

I get what you're saying, but there's also the flip side of a real world, none filtered photo:

when the dock has its own mini garbage island floating in it, it kinda ruins the effect.

Hopefully, they shrink the dock down to keep a patch of water, but build entertainment and retail around the sides.
