New Everton Stadium

We can't have anything that they actually want, that's the way they like it Carlin mate, that's the way in the main it's been in my 40 odd years following EFC,well maybe, just maybe things are about to change:)

Read a post of his there, he's wrong on so many counts it's unreal.. the docks isn't run down due to the crash, it's run down because the trade isn't there. The trade was primarily coal. Shut in 1983'ish I think.

There is a plan to fill in Bramley Moore. Just cause this joker doesn't know doesn't mean it won't happen.

The interest in the area has NEVER been bigger. There's a global buzz about the place now. Not because of us, but along with us.

I am getting the feeling we could be close to planning application stage, correct?

I don't know. But we do have something to plan against.

Plus, it won't be an issue. The very fact a submission will be made will mean that as long as we're within certain parameters we'll get it.

...in the very early days of this discussion I did predict there would be formal planning objections, almost certainly from Reds based groups. I'm sure Moshiri and his team have done their homework and feel they can progress. Key for me is precedent already set with land further up the river; new build museum, art gallery, hotels and most notably the Echo Arena.

A parallel story. AFC Wimbledon have been planning a long while for a return to Plough Lane, a new stadium built by the old footie ground, plus new housing etc. Merton LBC approved it but had to pass it to the London Mayor for his consideration. Last week, Sadiq Khan passed it straight back to Merton LBC saying he was satisfied that they should make the final decision (clearly going to be a yes).

What will be the planning permission process for the new stadium? Some have talked about it being 'called in' by the Secretary of State (not quite sure which central government department would cover it?). Or can all the decisions be made locally by Liverpool CC?

@Jacko93 intimated that as long as the laid down rules/parameters were met, it wouldnt be an issue.

So, all the key decisions are likely to stay local.

Dunno mate. I guess the rules are centrally laid down, and as long as LCC are happy they are met, then start the cement mixers.

I think the Home Office only get involved if objections mean LCC decline permisson, and the club can apply to them direct.

I think.

There would have to be a public consultation period during which time the RS, sorry I mean the public, could raise objections to the plans. I'm not sure what would then happen, how would LCC have to address those concerns.....discussed within the planning committee structure and over the course of time with more information required, a yes or no decision made.
