New Everton Stadium

Interesting overview.

However, it comes down a little too even handedly on "all stakeholders" for my liking.

There's a hierarchy of blame for the mess / responsibility for putting it right, and that article makes it appear like the local state just deserves a partial share of it.

As for national government cash - two things:

1/ we have a stadium built because an oligarch and his business partner got it off the ground, and I doubt there'll be much interest in throwing cash at transport for its development, no matter how much they go on about 'growth'.

2/ our best shot at bending the ear of government is unfortunately via two men: the LCR mayor Rotheram - who displays no urgency for the task; and the Mayor for Gtr Manchester and big blue, who's positioned himself as a bit of a political rival to most of the Starmer inner circle and Starmer himself.

In short: we'll get no joy from that source and the connectivity of the stadium will be down to a very piecemeal solution of sorts stretched over a very long time.

Why will it build up feelings of resentment?

I’m pretty sure as fans we’ll be bothered about what’s going on on the pitch, and not that some people are drinking in a different bar.

If we were that embittered and miserable, then the Main Stand fans who sit in restricted views, and the fans at the back of the Lower Bullens, would have rioted years ago.

Stop trying to see problems where there aren’t any and enjoy the fact that we’ve got a brand new, shiny stadium. Save your anger for Steve Rotherham.
You cant appreciate that resentment would build among those without access to a new stadium? Really?

You should know by now that Dave likes to put an obstacle in front of an hurdle 🤣🤣

These things need to happen sooner rather than later.

When people see others getting access it'll naturally build up resentment and feelings of exclusion. As far as I'm aware there's no timetable for those events you mention.
Only in the small minded entitled few.
Those with half a brain cell know it's not fully licensed, hence the test events, and open to the general public until those licenses are gained, but you know this already and are just being you.

For the second test event does anyone know which stands will be used?
For the first it was South only, be interesting to see if this next one is the whole stadium or if some areas are still omitted.
They might even do the whole stadium except for the South stand for that test if they want to test the rest of the ground.

All stands to be used in 2nd event.

There's a reason the word "test" is put before event....it's a test event.

When it's ready, and they've got all the correct certificates required, me, you, the cat next door will have access to wander around the stadium until our hearts content.

There's no resentment at all or exclusion. The ones who are testing the events are rightly season ticket holders. We'll get our chance to see it in all it's glory soon enough.

I’m not resentful that I can’t get into Goodison whenever I feel like, and I don’t know anyone of sound mind who feels like that either. I won’t feel any different about the new stadium.
You can get into Goodison whenever you feel like it, simply pay the 20 odd quid for a Stadium Tour, something that no doubt will happen at Bramley Moore once its passed all its tests and is fully functional, but why am I telling you this, you arent a moron and already know this.

Can you imagine if the Orcs from the tin mine had built a stadium where we have?
There’s be a second platform at Sandhills if not a new station closer, a monorail or tram system to the city centre and a Mersey Clipper service with ½ dozen new piers.

If the council are serious about the Liverpool Waters regeneration, they need to pull their bleeding finger out and get the transport sorted.
There’s what 2500 new homes planned, how are those folk suppose to move around the area ffs.
