New Reputation System!

I've implemented a revision of the reputation system. Rather than points/comments, you can now Thumb your fellow posters. (Anyone who refers to the system as a Like system will be infracted. It's Thumb FFS)

It's currently available to Gold, Silver and Bronze users as we trial it and iron out kinks.

Moderators to decide via vote if it stays, or goes.

It was a good feature and fairly unique to this site

yeah, i liked the uniqueness of it too.

it was sometimes a fun but edgy game to play if you opened a provocative thread and had to convince enough peeps to not all red you into koplivion.

So when you rep someone you can choose how much rep to give them. How do you see how much you've been given when you recieve rep? I can see the total, but not individual amounts, and tbh I don't keep track of what my total is on a day to day basis...

Also, just out of interest, how much rep do people generally give out? Do you give everything you can? Do you apportion it relative to the quality of the post? Or do you just give a set amount each time?

I vary mine massively to be honest, if I'm just reloading so that I can Neg rep Del again then I just give 1 point to someone random, I try to hit every mod with at least 20,000 pos rep points everyday so they don't ban me.

I always give some of the newer/less repped lids the maximum, but I give the big shots a bit less so all that green doesn't go to their heads.

I just give 1 whether its pos or neg.
