New Everton Stadium

They do - but those additional 20K are essentially not West Ham fans but rather a random mob of East London scruffs enticed by cheap admission prices to watch decent PL teams stuff West Ham every other week....hence all the fighting in the ground.

I'm sure somebody put in a FOI request to the Met who replied saying they are basically policing c40k most games. Not that I put WHU anywhere near us in terms of support.

If the club are looking to start getting the "football tourist" money in as some have mentioned above, then I think it would be a good idea to try and do something similar to what Fulham do with their Putney End 'neutrals section' next to their away end, and have somewhere in the ground dedicated exactly for this.

It could be a focussed visitors / tourist section allowing non-Evertonians visiting the city to enjoy the stadium experience and learn about our heritage (Free entry to the amazing "David France Experience" with every ticket sold!), and avoid regular matchday going Blues having to sit next to a someone waving a selfie stick about with a Go Pro strapped to their head.

Not just that. The new ground is actually more convenient to get to.
Internatuonal train station close by . 7 mins journey from central London and also number of rail and underground lines close too.
Thays why its very important that the infrastructure is sorted for Bramley Moore ....the fair weather fans wouldnt fancy walking down the Dock Road for 30 mins on a cold wet windy Tursday night.

Ah...with the delicate waft of raw molasses clogging your nostrils! I can't wait. But seriously yeah we need to sort out the transportation system - there used to be a lid who posted on here, he was a total fruitloop who kept banging on about a light rail system - where's he gone ....GOT needs this type of poster.

i think away fans are only allowed 3k tickets at most in the premier league

3k is not the maximum, although I can understand the confusion. It's kind of a target figure for stadiums with a capacity over x amount of thousands.

For example utd have been given an allocation of over 3000 for their trip to St. Mary's.

I can't tell what the maximum figure is as I can't find any details on it. If you have enough people to fill the stadium with your own support then obviously you would keep it to the minimum level as you don't want to give the away side any more advantage than you have to, but it looks possible we could increase the away support if we wanted to.

I thought 3k was the maximum or 10% of the capacity which ever the greater. In some circumstance, more would be available depending on safety regs. Blackburn used to give away teams up to 6k so they coukd fill the away end.

thats correct as far as im aware.
im not sure how its actually possible for a PL team not to sell out against utd as claimed above.

Don't WHU get 50k now. When they use to get 30k. people will fill the stadium , little doubt in my mind

They're averaging 56,000 mate. I totally agree with you that we'd fill it.

The fighting was largely created by the stadium being utterly unsuitable to host football matches, by West Ham outsourcing the stewarding to a totally inexperienced firm, and just by general ineptness by the club.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with offering cheap tickets to fill a stadium, it's exactly what should be done, and I've got absolutely no doubt it's what Everton will do.

This is about the best I've found:

The ruling for the allocation of away tickets in the Premier League is as follows: "3,000 tickets or, if the capacity of the home club's stadium is less than 30,000, such number of tickets as is equal to 10 per cent."

--
Although the 3000 can be breached in either direction as city have reduced the number of tickets to utd for the derby on saftey grounds. Not sure why it's just utd's ticket details to be found on the premier league website but hey-ho.

They will sell out i guess but they have given utd more tickets than required:

I always thought the rule was very similar to this but the other way round.

ie - You have to give 10% of your stadiums capacity to away fans, but you are allowed to cap it at 3000.

You are allowed to give more than that if you want, eg the way Wigan often give us alot more (although there might be other factors at play here eg the police stepping in and advising against it)

If you want to give less than 10% (or 3000 if your capacity is > 30,000) you have to justify it. However some of the reasons clubs give for reduced allocations often look dubious (eg persistent standing in the previous seasons fixture etc).

The rules in the FA-Cup are very similar but based on 20% rather than 10%.

I'm pretty sure thats what the rules were a few seasons ago. They may have been updated since though - tbh I haven't looked into it,

Yes that's the way I'm reading it, the 3000 is not a maximum but a minimum for stadiums over 30,000. But like you say open to change for various reasons.
