By the way, given that West Ham have a 60,000 capacity, as do Arsenal. As will Spurs (61k) and Chelsea (60k) after their rebuilds, of course our new stadium capacity should be at least 60000. If we truly have the ambitions that we say we do, we need a stadium that a) fits our ambitions and status; and b) measures up to our inherent rivals. A once in a generation (lifetime?) opportunity should not be squandered due to fear, or feelings of inadequacy. Being a 'realist' plays no part in this; the EFC board of 1992/93 were 'realists' and not visionaries when they decided the Park End should be a single tier stand and not a two tiered stand, and look where that got us. As Man City and West Ham showed, 'build it and they will come'. New stadium facilities (and especially ones that will be in an eyecatching location such as BMD) will ALWAYS attract thousands and thousands of new match-going fans. Especially if the tickets continue to be reasonably priced.
