New Everton Stadium

I think it needs to hold more than 45,000.
We're filling Goodison at the moment with probably the least traveling away support to visit us.
A brand new stadium would encourage more away fans, more hospitality, tourists? and more than anything, more of our own supporters.
55,000 at least.

Exactly. I didn't consider the potential away support coming in.

Echo article on what the capacity of the new stadium should be:

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-new-stadium-what-should-12615699

Mentions a stadium announcement is expected 'next month'.

As per any stadium article that the Echo publishes, it's already attracting Kopites, like moths to a bright light. It was published an hour ago and already has 14 comments, 5 from LFC fans claiming we can't fill Goodison (even though every Prem game has sold out this season and the article mentions the club is seriously considering capping Goodison season tickets sales).

Was off work today and went for a long walk around the Stonebridge site. Whatever the opposite of awe-inspiring is, this site defines it.

You'd have loved the Albert Dock in the mid-1980s mate:

By the way, given that West Ham have a 60,000 capacity, as do Arsenal. As will Spurs (61k) and Chelsea (60k) after their rebuilds, of course our new stadium capacity should be at least 60000. If we truly have the ambitions that we say we do, we need a stadium that a) fits our ambitions and status; and b) measures up to our inherent rivals. A once in a generation (lifetime?) opportunity should not be squandered due to fear, or feelings of inadequacy. Being a 'realist' plays no part in this; the EFC board of 1992/93 were 'realists' and not visionaries when they decided the Park End should be a single tier stand and not a two tiered stand, and look where that got us. As Man City and West Ham showed, 'build it and they will come'. New stadium facilities (and especially ones that will be in an eyecatching location such as BMD) will ALWAYS attract thousands and thousands of new match-going fans. Especially if the tickets continue to be reasonably priced.

Echo seem confident there'll be an announcement next month (although you can't trust anything in that rag).

Sounds like the Echo have been leaked that we'll get an announcement in March. 'An announcement over the next stage of their plans for a site at Bramley Moore Dock is expected next month.' Thankfully not even mentioning SC further enforces that it's destination BMD however the 'next stage of their plans' suggests it may still fall short of being absolute confirmation that BMD is the only site in the running.
'Everton’s new home would have to be multi-purpose with the idea of being able to host concerts and other sporting events, as well being a conference facility.' Meiss previously said of his plans for Roma, 'it’s also a multipurpose venue for concerts and events. The interior is flexible, with a 52,000-person capacity.' It's looking more and more like we'll eventually see plans for something like this at BMD with a capacity of 55k+.
