I think "The Alan Ball Stand" would be better, but then naming stands is quite dangerous because what about labone, dean.... etc etc.

If the stands aren't close enough to the pitch I wont be happy.
If the stands aren't steep, I wont be happy.
If theres gaps in corners or any sort of bowl like shape. I wont be happy.
If it looks plastic, I wont be happy.

So to conclude, am bracing myself for not being happy.

Bit of an off slant point but when Manchester did the commonwealth games they copied to the dot exactly what sydney did with their immensely successful olympic games and it showed, the commonwealths were a huge success.

In short, "copying" someone who has made a success of it, for example cologne or lyon or a club that is regulary in the uefa or fringe CL is exactly what we should be looking at and thinking hey.. if its good for the goose.

Been reading more about the stadium proposals...apparently there may be room for improvement to the iconography of the stadium - currently it doesn't seem to have much, and is something I would like to see.

That said, the atmosphere inside the ground is high on the agenda, and this design(although not pretty to my eyes) will give us that.

I love the blue lights at the top, that at night would bring a great atmosphere, and what competitions are played at night? European ones.

Those blue lights are a really nice touch I don't know of many stadiums in english football that have their teams colours in lights on the top of the stadium.

I would like some kind of gimmick to the stadium though, someone mentioned the arch on the new wembley and the light pillars on the rhien-energie one I hope there is something unique about this stadium other than blue lights.

Still its a damn sight better than goodison at the moment.

Gotta be honest, my initial thoughts are its quite average. While not being exactly crap, its not really that impressive either. And I especially hate those strange lights on the top, it makes the stadium look like some weird cake with candles on it. Come on whats that all about?

I think having four sides would make our stadium look quite unuiqe and MAYBE give it a good atmosphere, but but it does also make it look slightly dated. Like it or not, the bowl type shape is now the best looking way of creating a new stadium. I think its a big gamble making it sided, as we'll either have something thats cool and intimidating to the opposition or we'll end up with something that looks dated straight away.

Blue lights? I thought they were little white ones - me thinks photoshop wizardry has something to do with this!! Still, you're beginning to talk me round if we make more of a blue light theme.

If we do go for a lights theme everywhere, lets hope we keep up the maintenance and not end up like a cornerstore with lit up "E erton, the eoples C ub"

Granted, it's only an architect's mock-up, but I think it looks great.

By the way, the new Bayern/1860 stadium lights up in the colours of whoever it playing at home that night and it looks fantastic coming into the city from the airport (ahem, also another stadium built outside the original community which doesn't seem to have hurt them).

Thats pretty cool, looks more like a giant mp3 player than a stadium.

Is it only me though that thinks the proposed stadium looks a little plain? Compare it with the new arsenal stadium and the rs proposed one. It needs something to give it an edge.

Also, only because the stands arnt in a bowl, why cant the shape on the outside be of a bowl like? At least it would look a little more modern then.
