A draw would be an acceptable result, but I'm not sure that containment is Lampard's forte.

Tough one to call with so much pressure on both teams.
 

We beat Brentford 4-1. Yes, Newcastle are at home and they've improved their squad, but they're still below them and their squad is far from great.

Remove the Benitez hangover and the whole 'they're dead rich laaaaa' views and we should be confident going into this game.

Wilson is injured. Chris Wood isn't amazing. Their central defenders are woeful and their new one (Burn) isn't even fit. Come on, we can win this and we will.

Hate to say this almost but since we suddenly have a glut of attacking options I wonder if DCL should be the odd man out. I’d back Richy Gray Gordon to get in behind those CBs and Alli Gomes VdB to get the ball to them on the floor, sending Dom to bang bodies with them seems almost a waste

I’d be sorely disappointed with anything other then 3 points.

Brentford are poor but we would have done a job on any number of sides.

NFW that Jonjo F’ng Shelvey and sundry Longstaffs should win the middle of the park on us

You are right. But let's see. Hasn't managed three matches in a week for Everton in a while. But I hope that you are right. We look better with him in the team. And he is a threat from corners. Considering that we now have a few players that can take a decent corner kick. And give the big man a chance to get on the end of it. So I'm just thinking a tad over cautious. You are spot on. Up The Toffees....
 
Do we know if Dan Burn is confirmed out yet? He was doubtful with a toe injury

He scored for Brighton v us

goals against us by 2 different teams in one season etc etc
