What did I say they will attack down the left and first time they do they score, then the useless piece of crap dives in two footed and gets booked, next time he does that he will be off

Howard- not as solid or consistent as he could be.
Hibbert- tends to dive in and give away freekicks.
Jagielka- not the player he seemed to be a couple of seasons ago.
Distin- mops up well, but prone to dither on the ball.
Baines- excellent going forward. Still a few things to learn defensively.
Osman- mostly anonymous. Tends to play well about three times per season.
Rodwell- lots of potential. Needs to gain experience.
Neville- consistent performer. Not as influential as he once was.
Arteta- a poor season by his standards.
Beckford- creates plenty, but a wasteful finisher.
Saha- offers very little movement, but has a lethal shot on him.

So what did your original post prove?

That Newcastle goal was inevitable. We cock up our chances, first one they get, our defending is abysmal, 1-0. Sums up our season.

As soon as they scored my first thought on the defending was that it was reminiscent of promoted teams who play nice pretty football but in the end go back down again cause they can't get the defensive basics right.

That was disgraceful. I'd rather we conceded from an indiviual mistake then collective crapness like that.
