If we are going to win this I think we'll need 3-4. At least after the 1st 10min its became a fun match to watch and for the time being I don't have to dread the thought that NUFC will do the double against us.

Not really. I only do it when I'm on which is rare. Often times there will be a few folks who don't have access to a stream or video so I'll throw little snippets out there when warranted.

Jesus Harold Christ we are so dodgy at the back today. Panic merchants, hoofing, not tracking, losing markers...


Going forward seems fine today as their defence is equally as poor. But eff-me that's some of the worst defending I've seen from us this season...and we've 2 defensive mids in there too!

I agree with Billycooper too...Arteta is filling the Pienaar void.

Overall, mixed bag but we're 2-1 up. Need to stay focused and tight at the back.

Also, we've got some good options on the bench. Coleman (if he's not injured) can do a job and add some pace. Bilya, if given a go, could play either midfield or on the left putting Arteta back into the middle...and Heitinga can come on to kick people.

So...over to Moyes to sort us out second half if its going tits up.

I expect a chant of "Are you Blackpool in disguise" to be leveled at our defence if we keep this up.

Notice a few mins ago when Hibbert played the ball back to Howard and we had 3 defenders against 1 attacker, Howard booted it long and the ball came straight back at us letting them put us under pressure just before half time.

Watch a team like Man U in the same situation, at least one of the defenders would of dropped deep giving the keeper an option for a short pass allowing us to keep possesion rather than inite them back at us.

Its simple coaching but we never do it, just like pressing wide men not allowing them an easy cross.

But the midfield has played very well and we always look dangerous in their 3rd which hasn't happened very often this season.

2 defensive piss ups and a world class cross mean we lead 2-1 and the game is ours to win.

that was one hell of a topsy turvy half.
we showed a lot of character to come back into it and then take the lead , especially considering we started so slowly.
second half - we still need to up our game + id take hibbert off before he sees a red.

We seemed scared to lose because everyone is hoofing it out of any kind of danger. Most of the time this season, we've passed it well and looked a bit calm (apart from being done on the counter a lot).

We've got the passing and attack improving (although Becks and Saha havent really been involved or had a shot)...its just the back and the centre of the midfield. Tiote is bossing it.
