Set up like that last 30 minutes from the start we will start to score goals. Scoring goals will keep us up not trying to keep clean sheets

Saved by a penalty in all fairness. No quality whatsoever for large parts. I’d start Gomes on Saturday and let him dictate the pace. He’s actually been bright when called upon this season.

Massive block from Myko on the line kept us in it.

Unless we beat Burnley, it may have all been in vain.

Luton loss tomorrow gives us some cushion until the points deduction gets thrown at us.

…Gomes can pass the ball and show a bit of imagination in possession it’s what decent footballers do. Garner also better in possession and showed commitment, substitutes made the difference.

Young was Young but credit to him making a fuss with the penalty, not sure they’d have looked otherwise. Pickford MoM.

As much as I still shudder in horror at that Gomes first half again Palace a few seasons ago…you think he could make a big difference in some of these home games against bottom half teams coming up.

Just shows that when you take a penalty you put your laces through the ball so even if the keeper gets a strong hand to it, as this one did, the ball still ends up in the back of the net. Onana please note.

Dreadful performance and the only positive was an Everton player actually demanding a penalty and chasing the ref down the whole field.

Well done Young, that was the best thing you done all game.

Pickford excellent, Gomes decent when he came on.

Young by the way shows more passion than most. Any other player would have sighed a bit and just played on
