Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Think anyone with sense would wait and see before wetting the bed over an internet tweet.

I couldn't see the point in worrying anyhow. Doesn't really matter what other clubs do now, it is all down to what we do. Even if a team like Newcastle get investment they still have to get it right and hope for the original spenders + the RS who spend more than most decline.

We have a head start on anyone else trying to come up through the ranks and we will only get close by doing good business.

It was never on in the first place.

Not according to the BBC/ every national paper paper/ SSN & sources from Abu Dhabi.

As I said at the time it seemed very concrete (and may still happen). I get people laughing if someone takes twitter or the odd tabloid as gospel however pretty much every news outlet was reporting the takeover as being genuine mate.

I agree however it wasnt a random twitter @roydo - as I said every outlet including the BBC, SSN & local N. East journo's reported talks.

As I said its hypocritical to laugh when heads would fall off all over the gaff if we were the club rumoured to be in talks with the Mansour family - you had some Blues photoshopping Messi in an EFC jersey based on a £1.5 billion net worth Moshiri buying a 49.9% stake in us!

The guy was a fraud mate, from the absolute start. It was utter drivel. The best bit was that people were saying Monsours brother had like 10 times his wealth. Just utter nonsense. Any basic use of the google search engine could have dispelled the rubbish.

As people were saying though, we will never be able to compete with them, not with our multibillionaire, and the likely 2 further billionaires behind us (one of who'm is the wealthiest man in Russia and has more money than the actual Sheikh Monsour has). Definitely getting left behind the geordies we are.

So if news broke that Everton were in talks with the worlds richest family about a takeover you think

A. Our fans wouldn't be delirious

And

B. Kopites / clubs around us heads wouldn't have fell off?

Stop chatting wham anyone with sense should be concerned if a club in this league gets that sort of investment as you seen what it did for Man City.

Lets hope this news means any potential takeover by filthy rich arabs is OFF.

There are no filthy rich Arabs, thats the point. Monsour doesn't have a brother with loads more money than him, certainly not one who will invest in Newcastle.

The same bloke was laughed out of town by FSG, as he couldn't even prove he had the funds for a deposit on a share in LFC. He's fronting up and trying to blag his way into a football club based on debt. I hope he takes over Newcastle, it's just a shame he didn't take over Liverpool, as it would be disaster for them.

I can honestly tell you if some bloke, who claimed to be Monsours brother and claimed he was worth over 100 billion I would be extremely sceptical. I'd also know if it were true (which patently it wouldn't be) it would make very little difference to us, as we have 3 billionaires already in toe and there are limits to what can be done via FFP.

The only Newcastle reporter with credibility - Luke Edwards - laughed it off immediately.

No one elses fault bar their own if they buy into Sky's time-filling rubbish.
