Yeah they've reacted as you'd imagine, banging on about conspiracies and repeating that this question WAS answered and the PL just didn't like the answer and the reason they won't say that is because they're afraid of getting sued

They hate villa cos Villa was mean to them
How one May day in 2009 gave birth to the Aston Villa-Newcastle rivalry
To the uninitiated it looked like Aston Villa had scored a goal, or won a cup - all they had done was secure the relegation of Newcastle Unitedwww.google.co.uk
Ha. Same. That makes me want to like Aston Villa.
Was something that was already mentioned since the Sheff United owners have done the same thing. Net worth of millions. Invested zero.
1) Why run it? With some initial effort you could get someone else to do that, then take a regular profit and see your asset's worth grow ideally. It implies that they only see the club as an investment vehicle or unlocking something else (like Bramley Moore and the dockside development for Moshiri et al.) which is not a bad thing, but they're evidently not the over-generous benefactors that the jawdee nation is crying over.
2) Not all states are as bad as the Saudis. I do suppose though that it's probably the more despotic ones that would buy into a club. But then again an oil wealthy state like Norway could be interested if the numbers were right for the right club?
3) I think you are right. It'll be a long time before they are even considered an acceptable regime to buy into the PL. I look forward to the day they are acceptable as that would be better for everyone all round.
4) Spot on. Just an investment opportunity. At what point do you just walk away and not deal with the hassle. I'd have thought a lot earlier in the process and I'm surprised that they even were advised that this would go well.
To be honest I never thought about why a "respectable" state would look to buy a sports team. Unless it was an absurdly low risk high financial return I can see nothing but head aches.Agree with all of that.
On point 2, I suppose there is a question as to whether other clubs would not allow it. I'd also add, most countries with lots of money, to invest, tend to want to do so for sportswashing reasons. I think that will bow be very frowned upon as a precadent has been set.
How many weeks is it now since they walked away?
He’s gone back to waste yet more of his time.

We warned people. We were the trail blazers. They are now in public view for all to see. Great to see.Not a single Newcastle fan in the replies calling him an unhinged kiddy fiddler. They are by far the worst fanbase in the history of football, they’ve overtaken Big Red.
