What Newcastle need now is some hard working upper half quality players. It's not very exciting but that's the platform you need to get the best out of the better players when they come.

And if you really want to be sensible 3 or 4 in starting quality each summer and maybe 1 or 2 in winter. In 3-4 seasons you have a decent side especially of you've picked up some long term youth prospects who came out right. Then you go get the elite players.

Or you overpay in a giant splurge and have a dysfunctional unbalanced team like we did.

I think very likely too. They will be even keener to make a statement, and probably even stupider with cash.

It's also very hard to attract top players with no track record. I mean we had semi regular European football and didnt manage it. They are relegation fodder.

I'm pretty sure Malaga were bought out in a similar way, but in the end ended up relegated. It's harder than you think.

But yea, maybe they will win the league in 5 years.

I think they are worried they are being left behind. It's a rare moment of clarity for them.

I doubt theres much in that mate.

He will be offered out in January I'm sure, and I'd imagine they will take anyone at this point.

There's no way they'll be sensible.

Paper talk saying they've been in talks with Conte even in the summer. That's the level they're jumping off at.

Fancy Conte turning up to a team 2nd from bottom without a win so far this season. Lol

Didnt we out spend people in the 60s mate? And also for the 1891 league win we did as well!
