Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Fat Sam turned it down, he's waiting to be asked again in January when he'll ask for the wages to be doubled.

Sam is no idiot.
Double the money, half the work, none of the blame. Get in.

Im clearly missing something but how else would you leave a job?
Retirement or death? Hard to see how the manager's job would become redundant but who knows and I guess that's not much more different than sacking.

Well I suppose he could be a raging success and carry on for many a happy year until he retires with the warm gratitude of the Geordie fans and a statue outside the ground. You never know, but I guess Big Sam hasn't been taken of Ashley's speed dial list quite yet.

Sorry I was being snarky. The duration of each period of employment and whether he left to take up a better offer or jumped before he got pushed would be the pertinent detail.

But I'm letting my natural snark distract me from the delicious taste of Geordie's salty tears.

As a football manager, very few don't jump or get pushed. That is a pretty staggering list of mediocre appointments without anything to suggest that things are going to change once he goes to Newcastle.

As soon as he joins up, it's just a matter of time until he goes.

I wonder how the sheikh is going on with his bid... I bet he is well aboard with the Steve Bruce appointment.

And that’s the crux of the matter.

If he succeeds against the odds, then it justifies Ashley continuing his policy of mediocrity at no cost.

If he fails, then back to the Championship, where they rinse and repeat only to end up in this position again in 3 years.

Both outcomes are equally hilarious.

Also seems to have piped down the ridiculous “Who’s the bigger club; Everton or Newcastle” shouts their moody fans like to make :hayee:

Don't open your post. And turn the phone off. Been working for me the last few years.

No joke, the situation with my boss last year saw me have a wee breakdown and do just that. I was incommunicado for a couple of days, got signed off, my girlfriend e-mailed the sick note and I switched off the phone. After two days of hiding in bed, they sent the police to my house to make sure I was alive then fired me.
