Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Was watching an old Premier League season review from the 08/09 season on YouTube.

The section on Newcastle talked about how angry the fans were that club favourite Kevin Keegan has left the job and Ashley had replaced him with the underwhelming Joe Kinnear.
Footage of loads of them protesting and shouting “Ashley Out”
10. Years. Ago.

Easily the most cyclical club in world football.
Condemned to their own footballing Groundhog Day at the hands of Mike Ashley for all eternity.

Bruce was very very endorsed by Simon Jordan earlier today. Him and Ashley whilst not bestie mates do get on apparently. And Bruce and Jordan go back.......funny world aint it?

Yeah Jordan went after the North East correspondent on Talk Sport once because he said something along the lines that "Ashley just wants rid of the club for a profit and doesn't really care who buys it", so Jordan got ultra defensive. Makes sense if he's Ashley's mate

He truly is

I think he honestly gets a near sexual thrill from winding up Mags fans at this stage lol

The great thing is no one can do a thing about it because everything he’s ever done is 100% squeaky clean legal. He’s not even that old either so he could just stay at that club for another 20 years creaming cash from them and using them as a SportsDirect billboard.

A genuine god of a businessman. We should all aspire to be like him.

Ultimately I think he wants to own Rangers more than Newcastle, so he's really just using Newcastle to pad his pocket until the opportunity to buy Rangers presents itself. At that stage he'll just sell up to whoever will pay him the most money

The thing he doesn't realise is that Rangers supporters would actually do something about his behaviour, like genuine murky stuff because they truly are radio rental and don't just talk a good game like the Mags do

As long as there’s this sort of money to be made from the Premier League, he’s set for life and so are his family for generations.

The great thing is, that Newcastle are probably the best run club in the Premier League from a strictly business point of view. They’re never going to be in any financial trouble under Ashley, but they won’t go anywhere either because he quite simply won’t spend. Just use them to build up his own personal empire.

Absolute god.

Apart from a captive market of lunatics to buy orange away kits i have no idea why anyone would want to own Sevco

Probably with an eye to get them into the Premier League I'm guessing

That's probably going to happen sometime, especially if this European Super League happens. Those of us left behind will probably recruit Rangers and Celtic into the English League system to bolster the League itself

Just makes sense full stop. Imagine trying to sell the club for a loss.
