Apparently the new owners got to the club and have realised there is more to do than they knew, it's apparently a massive mess and they need more investment backstage. So that's where all their money is going. Levelling the most basic facilities up to standard.

Steve Bruce is also staying on until they can convince someone to take on the project.

I'm not surprised they are not shelling out at Newcastle after the recent reports PIF also want to buy Inter for €1 billion, supposed to be close to concluding as China want the deal done quick as Suning Corporation is haemorrhaging money.

Also I did read that PIF are looking to sign Marseille as well, Qatar and Saudi relations are terrible right now, that would be interesting though going toe to toe with Qatar on the pitch, Marseille are still the most followed and biggest club in France and the city has the largest Arab population in Europe.

Marseille would be a strange one - yes, the city has a big Arab population but the fans are not really the sort you could see jumping for joy when petro-football arrives. McCourt would no doubt jump at the chance to get a ten or twelve-fold profit mind.
