Ralf Rangnick would be a good appointment for them to start things, he'd get them on a solid footing playing exciting football with a young core of players.

Did fantastic work at Hoffenheim as coach, and at both Red Bull clubs with starting the culture of only singing young players and setting up the scouting network to sign young talent.

Not sure if MBS has the patience for that though, he seems a twitchy guy who wants the absolute best so i'm guessing they'll just splurge instead and go for the chequebook manager route.

Yeah their fans are so annoyed. 25 mil plus player sales per season.

Apparently the new owners got to the club and have realised there is more to do than they knew, it's apparently a massive mess and they need more investment backstage. So that's where all their money is going. Levelling the most basic facilities up to standard.

Steve Bruce is also staying on until they can convince someone to take on the project.

Thing is, that's probably sensible. Get the foundations right and think long term.

Not that footie fans, esp some of the more excitable Geordies, think long term.
 

I bet the 170000 shirtless Geordies who cram into St. James' Park every week canna wait to see Bruce in the dugout on Sunday.
Getting rid of him should've been the easiest decision to make for the new owners.
Like us with Koeman and Silva, they reached the 'anyone but him' stage months ago.
