Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Poor, poor Barcodes,

Proven premier league failure and someone Arsenal couldn't get rid off quick enough seems to their top target, how misguided and limited must their ambition be?

Relegation looks more and more likely by the day and this time they could be down for a while.

Sack Emery posters are surely already being prepared, John Carver is the obvious choice.

I’m surprised they never went for Scott Parker

Why on earth would he leave Champions League side for Newcastle? Wonder how much they’re giving Him a year

It's obvious why, Newcastle are seriously rich and long term will be a force. His salary will be huge but it's whether he can stay there long enough to reap the rewards of their undoubted wealth that's the question.

Immediately and short term to medium term there are big problems, relegation looks a massive possibility. First and foremost the new owners (in effect an oil mega rich country) Saudi Arabia's ability to invest in the playing side could be massively hampered and constrained. It's not just relegation but financial constraints imposed by both the football league (championship and lower) and premier league that limits their development.

It could be five to ten years before they're really a big force in the game but they will be I'm certain. It's just moving there now may be one or two managerial appointments too early.

The job may be far more attractive in five years time.

Really don’t think Emery is the right manager for that squad of theirs. He’s an idealist manager, like Martinez, he’ll try and persist with playing out from the back with Paul Dummett and Ciaran Clark. They need someone like Dyche.
Agree, they need to get through this season somehow then try and go big. Emery is a proven manager but not with the garbage they have

Illogical choices. .

Emery isnt someone you bring into the premier league to stave off relegation with a team of cloggers

Howe got his last club relegated

Surprised they didnt throw their cash around like Moshiri did when we got Koeman.

Thought they would have probably gone for Benitez and bought him out of his contract with us.

Perhaps they tried to but Moshiri said hes not for sale?

I don’t think Benitez would have entertained the idea at this point. He’s got a job in the vicinity of his family home and will want to do a good job to prove the many doubters wrong.

Emery is a gamble in their position but he’s a proven winner and with a good DOF above him could transform them.
