They weren't that good mate. They didn't win a button......
Tbf, neither did that Brazil team in 1982 to be fair
Winning a pot or not does matter, but it's not the be all and end all

We can act noble about it and pretend that its for love of the game and seeing talented teams play but ultimately we all go and support our team while dreaming about them winning trophies.
People will always remember "poor" teams that won stuff over "good" teams that didn't IMO.
They might be remembered but they won't be remembered as winner's.You say that mate but people still Lionise Hungary 54, Holland 74, Brazil 86 etc, and these teams won nothing but they played such good football that they are remembered
By Newcastle fans? Sure thats fair enough, they won't forget that side. I mean they've won one single thing since the 50's and that was in 69 so its not like any living Newcastle fan would have a clue what a winning team actually is.I can't ever see that 90's Era Newcastle team being forgotten
Imagine having to motivate yourself to play for Steve Bruce.

Gooners doing more to hold their lot accountable than the Geordies so far
Just been announced on Radio 2 news that Bruce has resigned today from Sheff Wed.
I have a sneaking feeling that he may regret this lol
To be fair he said “best coach in the Premier League,” which suggests to me he knew he was in over his head as the caretaker manager at Newcastle. I think he wanted to stay as a coach under McClaren, but he ended up getting shafted.Newcastle managerial legend John Carver who once proclaimed himself "the best manager in the world" has come out in support of Steve, saying he's a Geordie, so that's good enough for me.
He's bound to get results (even if bad ones) and guarantee they're fighting for something right up to May (a possible relegation fight?)
To be honest there great achievement in 1969 was based on winning a trophy they didnt have to qualify for as at the time it was not based on league position ( they came 10th).They might be remembered but they won't be remembered as winner's.By Newcastle fans? Being remembered doesn't make their team winners though. The reality is that we achieved more in the premier league era they have so their team clearly wasn't that good.....
