Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Oh the bitterness

Like Man City Etihad £140 million a year Etihad deal is fair value, for a club that has no fans outside Manchester.

Another club with no international appeal will be getting bigger sponsorship deals than AC Milan and Inter Milan combined.

Stay away from Hogwarts mate. I bet they could get up to all sorts of mischief with the tears of a virgin and the right spell.

But as we have said umpteen times, if the shareholders of the company who sponsor them think its fair, it's fair. That's kind of how it works.

You may not think think it's fair, but nobody is forcing you to pay it. I may think 30m a year or whatever Liverpool get from Nike, for a club who havent won a single league in front of fans for over 3 decades is ludicrous. But you cant go punishing businesses on what people do or dont think is fair value.

The market will be the best indicator of what market value is. Bizarre concept though that is.

Thought that myself lol

I suspect it was more:
PL- It has to be market value

Newcastle- Here is European law 27.4 b, ii- which states you cannot punish businesses for securing sponsorship deals. If you want to interfere we will see you in court, and you will be humiliated, just like UEFA were last summer.

PL- (privately trying to save face)- Theyve got us there. Best not to admit it, spin it that we agree to it.

I mean honestly, the thought that a few oen pushing football nerds can dictate market value over companies in the market is laughable.

State ownership mate, who own said club.

What are you on about shareholders, Mansour is chairman of Etihad, was previously of Etisalat and the Abu Dhabi tourism board, not sure about Aabar, but I'm guessing yes, 4 owner linked companies.

It's like PSG who had 1 title in their entire history, signed a € 200 million a year contract with Qatar Tourism Board but that's not ludicrous is it to you mate, would Qatar have signed that deal with PSG if they didn't own them.... NOPE!!

In 2019 at the CAS trial it was revealed that Etihad was paying man City £140 million a tear in 2012 from £40 million per year, amazing that jump in fee, God knows what that deal pays in 2021, inflation Abu Dhabi style is pretty big when it comes to commercial deals Mansour owns.

Same way Man City in 2009 signed a £400 million pound Etihad commercial deal which was quadruple the present record in world football when Arsenal a 10 year £10 a year deal in 2006, a team that had 4 titles in 8 years, unbeaten season, got to a CL final, would any airline not linked to the owner have signed that Etihad deal with a yo yo club with 1 title and no fans outside manchester...NOPE!!

It's why no one complains or shakes their head when New Balance in a last year of a long-term contract paid said club you mentioned £95 million the season they won the title and £90million the season they won the CL, and why Nike Adidas pay the two biggest clubs in England per annum bigger kitdeals incentive based with a set annual fee with a cut of merchandise boosting the deal to quadruple and why City and Chelsea the two most successful teams the last 15 years lower per annum deals by far with no incentives fees added.

I'm sure you'll be happy when it's announced a $ 2 trillion dollar Saudi oil company Aramco and the Saudi airline Saudia are sponsoring Newcastle and within 15 -20 years will be far surpassing 9 league titles mate!!

Are you a touch upset? Would you prefer it if the rs or United were the oil clubs?

Just not true, my mate is a Man City fan and lives in Yorkshire so there is at least one fan outside of Manchester.

So the rising money tide will lift All boats, which will comedown to how you spend it...and we have Capt. Pugwash in charge

Even more bitterness :celebrate:

Kieron Tierney for £30 million. They will spent there way out of relegation.

Trippier not Tierney.

I think they'll improve in January but not enough to stay up. In the circumstances they're in it'll be difficult not to sign mercenaries to an extent. Like when QPR went down.
