Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

lol I know you've got an agenda but wew. We've been playing Jacob Murphy at RB most of the season so I reckon signing an England international - who also won La Liga last season - for the price you pay (these days) for a Championship player, is pretty solid business.

Wood's a panic buy. We have no strikers and he was available.

We were 19th when Howe arrived thanks to Ashley and Bruce. Like I say, jury's out, but we've gone from definitely going down to maybe going down, since his arrival. But I like that he doesn't routinely lie and belittle supporters.

Everything I've seen from you about Newcastle affairs has turned out wrong so I must admit to being enthused by this latest waffle. Experience suggests it's a pretty good indicator of the opposite!
Tbf we paid £10m plus for Ashley Williams when he was knocking on a bit, so we can't really have a go here.

Edit: whoa, £12m we paid for Williams. You win.

So weird this little brothers in arms pact you lot have going on.
Going to be interesting watching how quick the trajectory of the club will be, they'll throw money at it quickly now FFP is dead.

Like Man City who posted their turnover results showing a profit and the highest turnover in world football which grew by £90 million from last year with a loss of matchday revenue during a Pandemic when every club in the world is posting losses, expect Saudi's to cook the books like city have to elevate them high up, they'll have amazing accountants there who'll know how to spend that money and hide wages.

Chris wood isn't a bad short term fix, I mean they've massively overpaid but he'll get them a few goals to try and keep them and money literally isn't am issue.

That Wilson is injured 70% of the time anyway so can't rely on him

I bet you are really angry that Sky Sports shows football games and not the boardroom conferences.

You are a very weird football fan? Can't you just watch football rather than picking apart the financial dealings of clubs, in it's most minute detail.

Football at the top has been a busted flush for a long time, regarding finances. I apologise as this may sound patronising but you will feel a lot better about life if you get over this weird obsession with profit and loss sheets.

Wood is an absolute cart horse. He's a poor man's John Harston

Not really old enough to remember in detail but wasn't Hartson alright? Decent record for West Ham, just injured all the time? Took the piss in Scotland obviously, as many competent strikers do.

Wood's a 1 in 3 PL striker. I'll gladly take that over zero strikers. Big price like but, let's face it, what do we care about value for money these days? lol Besides, if we he scores 5 or 6 and we stay up, it's paid for itself.

How does it feel to have no principles?

Did he? Thought he had a relegation under his belt and is currently heading for another one.

Aye he did well. He had ten games to rescue a ship that was 19th and adrift. The first game was away to to Champions in waiting, after that we won three, drew four, lost two - but it wasn't enough. You'd have to be pretty blinkered to level any responsibility at him for that relegation, the damage was done by McClaren and Ashley.

Then we got promoted, then finished tenth in our first season back, then finished comfortably in mid-table again despite working on a shoestring budget. So aye, he did areet.

Him doing badly at Everton doesn't mean he did badly at other clubs. You won't go down anyway, you'd basically need to find ten more points this season to secure survival, such is the desperate state of the actual relegation candidates.

@JimmyJeffers what do you believe to be my principles/what principles do you believe I'm lacking?
