Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

lol He absolutely doesn't look crap in the slightest. He's consistently been one of our best players in a box-to-box midfield role since Howe came in; his defensive work very much his biggest asset atm. Very neat footwork and very difficult to get the ball off, whilst positionally getting himself in the way to make interceptions etc. Sadly he just goes to pieces in the box; Bruce never quite got his head around it, despite him only scoring 6 in 69 games and looking an utter carthorse up top. He's been a revelation in midfield, though.
How utterly strange. From striking hope to midfield dynamo. Maybe Eddie Howe is a genius of Guardiola proportions (think converting Lahm to midfield defensive fulcrum, or Delph to serviceable left back).

Howe got a bit lucky in all fairness. It's been clear to anyone with a working brain (ie not Bruce) that he isn't a CF. However, Howe admitted that he saw him more as a number 10. It was only the forced change to a number 8 role (when Clark got sent off against Norwich) that has resulted in this sequence of robust performances, very much in the middle of the park. Just a pity he totally goes to bits in the box and shoots against his own head, etc. If he can improve his composure in that department then he could become an unlikely icon, after two horrendous first years.

Well if we're making stuff up about players at other teams!

Ah, you lot. lol Joelinton's been good, as demonstrated by your lot getting neewhere near him a week back.

lol nowhere near him lol

Didn't even notice he was playing until Alli left one on him and he had a titty lip lol lol lol

Edit : sorry I've just remembered at the end of the first half where he gets tripped up by the ghost of Peter Beardleys jaw and somehow heads the ball from 2 inches off the ground.

It really was a memorable performance come to think of it.

And yet, despite all that, he was on the winning team. Blimey.

Look at this man. Typical nufc fan. Comes on here playing the sound man routine then reporting all his findings back to his boys.

Hope we don't lose our momentum cos I'd [Poor language removed] love us to pummel Everton.

It's hilarious. You go on Grand Old Team and somehow Geordies are apparently the yardstick for all unreasonable fans. Crackers. Not only did the vast majority of our lot sit on their hands during the worst times, but to get that slaver from Everton fans...

Re the hatred towards us on GOT, from spending a bit of time on there the impression I get is that - for some weird reason - they appear to liken us to Liverpool/the 'red scum'. I see the odd reference to us and Liverpool supposedly being chums or whatever, very strange. I guess the thing us and Liverpool do have in common is that we're both regional 'top dogs' (snarf), which Everton obviously aren't. So a bit of bitterness via that, maybe.

Some of the hate is palpable, like. One example from their current pre-match thread:

"Couldn't stand these whoppers even before they went all in on sucking off a repressive regime just to get a few dollars stuffed in their G-string. Hope we blast the horse-punching whoppers back into the championship, forever."

Then the same guy quoting himself unprompted:

"Sorry, just reiterating how much I hate these absolute cretins and how tumescent I am at the thought of slapping them into League One."

Lol. At least disguise your user name you thick numptey.
