Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Reckon they’ll sack him and get Mourinho now?
If they get Jose, then I'm going to be asking serious questions about you Mr Farhad Moshiri. I actually think that Mourinho would do a cracking job up at Newcastle even with the constraints they're under - you never know unless you ask the question and all he can say is no (accompanied with a look of disdain and laughs of derision).

But why on earth would he do that?

Terrible players, no money to spend, youth academy basically shuttered (not that Jose can find his way around one of those anyway...). I really fail to see what's in it for him.

Why on earth would Mourinho even look at Newcastle?

Lol, he'd never come to us in a billion years never mind Newcastle.

Seriously, they have a awful squad (that will no doubt still take six points off us!:dodgy:), a truly terrible manager, a shocking owner and buttons to spend. If they were prepared to spend the type of money they'd need to bring in Mourinho they'd still have the fat Spanish waiter as their manager.

Why did Benitez go there? Lack of any other offers on the table at the time. I actually could see Mourinho taking a job just for the shear bedevilment of it.

I agree that it's very unlikely, but if Silva was getting the bullet, then Mourinho would be on my list of possible candiates simply as he knows the league and is a successful manager. I see no reason for Newcastle to think differently. He may already have binned them off already!

Newcastle fans adored Benitez who they rated as possibly their best manager for a decade. They always maintained the real problem was the owner, but whoever followed their managerial icon would be working under even tougher and harsher constraints and to everyone and anyone must therefore look like a man asking to be hung.

Inheriting a squad that had allowed the two strikers who scored two thirds of the teams goals last season – Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez – to leave isn't anyone's idea of heaven and to make things worse all five of the summer signings have seriously underwhelmed so far.

So Bruce, a Geordie and lifelong Newcastle fan allowed his heart to rule his head when all the warning signs had been posted with flashing lights on every corner of his journey up there, a senseless career move when out of work looked infinitely better - he's not exactly short of money.

Most other managerial candidates wouldn't have touched the Newcastle job with a bargepole, Bruce was virtually the only one who would even go near, he let his heart overcome his brain and took on a job on where a huge majority of the fanbase wanted him out before he'd even started. A martyr to his love for his hometown club while perhaps throwing whatever chances he had of a future job in the incinerator

With such a hugely thankless and unmanageable task he's very predictably had no chance. Right from the start he's been thrown under the bus, no real money his only two strikers sold and a desperately poor owner. He finally flipped after yet another truly abject performance.

His reaction to the pitiful surrender at Leicester was furious bordering on manic, he could not have the players in on Monday as he was still seething with anger.

They can do the nice and easy thing and dismiss Bruce, but there'll be no queues of quality managers wanting to have a go or even average ones, it'll cure absolutely nothing at all, except temporarily satisfy those fans who think there's some kind of saviour waiting and desperate to take such a job.

They're kidding themselves, Mourinho? - what a joke that suggestion was.

Theyre sorted in Centre Midfield now with the 2 Longstaff brothers.

If the rumours are true and they coax Gibson back then possibly the makings of a few home grown English players in the side.
