Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Anyone know where Newcastle’s match day revenue stands in relation to us or other teams ? Is there a table showing each clubs income (outside of transfers). They have big local fanbase and good size stadium but are still pretty small time overall... they will surely suffer from similar issues we do with wages. I can’t see how they can become a top team within a couple seasons as some suggest. It will take time.

Newcastle are a massive club....arguably the biggest fan base in England after the top 5 (not including Man City). They've suffered too much under their current owner.

Newcastle being described as 'massive' is always an odd one. A big club certainly, but massive .

Our fans online have developed a dislike of them that clouds our judgement a bit but they are no where near as big as some claim.

Their big crowds are reflective of their geographical situation. A big English City with a large catchment area and no powerhouse rivals nearby. If they had to compete with the likes of the RS or the 2 Manchester clubs they'd have a significantly smaller fanbase. So whilst they do have a huge local fanbase it's not as impressive as some suggest, it's a given. A decent fanbase no more no less. When you get outside the North East you can see that they arent a big name. Often having to opt for smaller allocations at away games in the past decade as understandably their local fans have a long way to travel to the aways. Theyve taken followings of less than 100 to some European aways which have been tough to get to etc but again point to not having a big fanbase outside their local area.

Massive clubs dont get relegated twice in the last 15 years and go nearly 100 years without a title, or 50 years without a trophy.
