Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Newcastle have finished in the top two twice and the top four way more times than Everton or Villa ever have in the premier league era to be fair.

As much as I hate to say it, a lot of our fans are really bitter towards Newcastle and it smacks of jealousy.
Gutted that you have been relegated as many times in the last 10 years than we have in our history

You can use stats whichever way you want to support almost any point you want to make.

Relegation stats aren't so useful, or total, or even average points, or position either, as all these point to a very different conclusion.

Jealousy is just absolutely ludicrous and way off the mark, perhaps pity is nearer the case, although there is an element of schadenfreude when looking at the ongoing struggles the north eastern club always seem to be perennially embroiled in.

Last won anything of note 64 years ago ; If that's your definition of massive I'd love to know what you class as a failure.
He's obviously not referring to them as a big club in terms of success, more the size of their fanbase, a 50,000+ seater stadium and the city to themselves
There’s no legs to it.

He's criticising people believing a newspaper story even though there were several reliable sources confirming that there's genuine interest in buying them (before BBC/SKY etc even picked it up). Whether or not it happens or not is a different story but there's still quite clearly legs to it until someone comes out and says the deal is off.

'Reliable sources'

'The Sun'

Choose one.

They have had talks but there is a long way to go according to sky, it smacks of so many potential breakthroughs over the last few years and it would hardly be surprising if it gave the same result too.

Reps of the Shiekh confirm the talks are genuine and ongoing.

There goes any last hope of playing european football/winning a trophy.

Good luck competing with 2x Man City's and the rest of the top 6.

I wonder if this may put a dent in Moshiri's ambitions? I imagine once the new ground is built he'll want to sell for a profit and get our of here ASAP
