Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

And that if you believe it, didnt know they made 1 attempt never mind 2

Oh my word, Mike 'Master Smokescreen' Ashley is back again

If the FA were to sanction a Saudi Arabian royal family-led takeover of Newcastle then the game has finally lost any morals it had left.

How on earth you can allow the man who ordered the cold blooded abduction and murder of an innocent US citizen just over a year ago, and whose country commits hundreds of public executions in the form of hangings and beheadings yearly to enter our game is beyond me.

And that's not even touching on their women's rights - or lack thereof - and slave labour that is sanctioned by the Crown Prince or whatever the kin imbecile is known as.

Someone tweeted the other day that this is their 17th takeover attempt since Ashley bought it

17.

It’s genius by Ashley to keep leaking these stories at the perfect time if you think about it, the absolute clowns fall for it every time. And that’s not just Newcastle fans, it’s the entire media and fans of other clubs. We will be having this whole sorry debate again come May/June time.

Yep, because they’re never linked with a decent takeover, it’s always a game changer like the Saudis or the UAE cousins last time

It makes it look like he’s willing to sell, but he isn’t. Why, when the Premier League is at it’s most lucrative ever, would he want to jump ship and not continue to cream off the top of his club? By leaking these “stories” it keeps people off his back, because it looks like he’s genuinely looking for a buyer. What a god of men.

Exactly this.

It’s his safety net should all his other stuff go under.

Plus the money just keeps flooding into the Premier League.

All he has to do every year is spend just enough to keep them in the league, throw out a story every now and again, that he’s in talks with someone or other to sell the club.

The “ Toon Army “ crawls back under its rocks, Jim White and the rest get excited and a few of the lunatic fringe on here start wetting themselves too.

Rinse and repeat.

Other than "Cos I can", I struggle to see a narrative as to why the richest bloke on the planet would see value, (in relation to his wealth) in buying Newcastle anyrate.

I know you could say the same about many clubs, but like with us, the end game is obviously the ground/Liverpool Waters. Wolves is the agent links (and bought while in the championship). West Ham, the Olympic stadium.

I dont see the USP at Newcastle, in terms of turning a few hundred million quid into anything significantly more.

From a potential return on your investment, it makes more sense to buy Sunderland, and play a longer game.

Like they said on TalkSport today, why would one of the richest men in the world buy Newcastle when he could easily afford a marque purchase.

You'd just go and buy United or Spurs for a few quid more
