So having been at work all day, I only saw the last 7 minutes... Anyone care to give me a quick overview of the game as a whole?

We were fairly electric early on. Ross tore a basketweaving run through the Geordie trenches and tickled the upper corner with a peach of a finish.

Newcastle dug their way back into it and we defended fairly well despite our midfield sort of evaporating for about 30 minutes. Stones took a left hook to the eye from Ivan Drago and fired passes to nobody in particular for the last 5 minutes of the first half.

Ben Arfa came on and looked dangerous. Anita and Osman missed pretty good chances at both ends.

We counterattacked pretty nicely and Lukaku and Osman got on the highlight reel.

Some fat sweaty men in black and white got angry and punched some innocent horses.

Looking at the league, it's much more comfortable. Being behind Spurs and needing to win games in hand with Man Utd chasing closely and desperate to get at least 5th, tonight's results show us above Spurs with a game in hand. With Arsenal at home to come...destiny is in our hands!

This win has made me happy in so many different ways, only the Everton of this season would do that, 3-0 away from home, we were great all over the park.

Say they win them all that would put them on 72 points. We'd have to collect less than 14 points from 8 games for them to overtake us. So, we need to win 4 and draw 2 from:

City (H)
Hull (A)

We have a tough run in, but sometimes it livens us up to be up against it.

We will overtake Arsenal at GP.....

Best all round performance of the season - our midfield were class and that no 9 BK please get him he worked so hard - 5 star performance not a bad player on our side passing was brilliant and that Barca kid was Billy whizz tonight ran them scared! Keep him for another loan season if possible - Jinx team next Fulham away!

I am not sure about that. It was a great win but I wouldn't say our midfield were class as I thought they over run our midfield most of the game. The great thing about tonight that has been missing most of the season is we were....clinical. It was a great win a clinical performance but not our best.

i'd be perfectly happy with 5th anyway. i won't be full of what ifs if we just miss out - it would put a dampner on a really good achievement. we'll just take it one at a time, expect a few twists and turns for sure. have to beat them at home though

Too many times at away grounds, night time, mid winter, where he's disappeared. Poor form to post he should be subbed.....this is Osman not Messi ffs
