Couldn't watch the match today.

Grinding out a 0-1 result on the road...wow.

What a difference a couple of weeks makes.

Koeman is looking worse by the second.

The calibre of his next club is going to be very interesting.

You'd think that any prospective club, would look at the fact that, a team that was in free fall under him, can be seemingly turned around immediately by a so called lesser manger,

Watched the whole game last night on a stream, and boy that last 10 minutes was nerve wracking. But must point out how the players are playing for each other and the grit that is now being shown. To me Williams has been transformed, okay still makes a blunder now and then but overall looking very decent. Nearly had a goal last night, if he flicked it to the right think it would have hit the net. Vlasic was very good, should start ahead of Lennon in next game.

3 points now to get another trio on Monday.

Unsworth's biggest mistake was continuing with whatever it was RK was trying to do. If he had done what he did vs West Ham in his first game he'd probably be our manager now and we'd all be congratulating ourselves on avoiding the horrors of Allardyce.

edit: though on reflection Holgate might have been injured

More absolute sludge.

I guess we can't argue with the points, but they are still mostly a mirage - only through extreme fortune have we avoided losing the last two. We are defending better for large spells, but still so prone to complete lapses, which, given that we are more or less disinterested and incapable of attacking, remains a huge liability.

On the other hand, we've been an absolute shambles all year, and I don't begrudge Allardyce taking his time to sort out the defence first. Holgate in particular has really stepped up, and Kenny continues to impress. While I do still think we've been awful, I can bear it - so long as it's temporary, and we're actually building toward something.

But if, possibly after even more transfer splurging, we're still playing like this in, say, March, I suspect patience will quickly wear thin. Mine certainly will. Regardless of whether it is merited at this stage, allowing the likes of Newcastle to dominate possession, or seeing discards like Atsu waltz unimpeded through two lines of defenders, hurts me in the soul. As does enduring us resorting to pointless, petulant time-wasting stunts.

Watched most of it and they did just enough to win it. Lucky for us Newcastle was of target on a couple of shots or it would have been a different story. Our passing and possession looked better, which is nice to see. Lastly, the defense is playing better like clearing balls and other things. Still a little shaky but definitely moving in the right direction...all 4 are playing better - if we had a better LB we would be set. I'm still waiting to see a more attack oriented formation (maybe just 1 defensive midfielder i.e. just play Gana)...maybe we will see that soon.

True that about a attack oriented formation, im sure when needed he must have a system but maybe we need to add some players in Jan for him to do that. Im interested to see if Sam has any totally different game plans, like for example lets say Chelsea go 2 up early on, be interesting to see how he copes with that. Last night as you say Newcastle with a bit of luck could of gone in front

...I would add that he and the new coaches appear to have given the place a lift. I think it’s the attention to detail. I was talking to one of the ground staff at USM FF and he wasn’t happy that Allardyce had the team training at night in preparation for night games.

I’d give them 9/10 for the defensive aspects of the game but only 5/10 for what we do with the ball. I expect the latter will improve with wins because the players become more confident. It’ll be a boost when injured players return and a few new signings come in. The signs are good. Boing, Boing Toffees, let the bounce continue.

Was the ground staff unhappy with then training in the evening due to him having to change his working hours/normal routine eggs?

Really interesting insight that, to hear that's something we've done in preparation for an evening match.

That also illustrates just how 'comfortable' far too many people at this club have become
