Newcastle vs Middlesbrough

If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Hull getting something from the Bolton game than Newcastle getting anything from Fulham and Villa.

Villa will want to try and keep hold of 5th, and Fulham are chasing Europe. Bolton arent going anywhere and Hull are fighting for survival.

Hull or only in the bottom 3 by goal difference. A point is going to keep either team up.

Have you seen Fulhams away record?

Its not the best. Its their home form that has lifted them up the table.

I expect Newcastle to beat Fulham or at least take a point.

Gutted about that result to be honest. I'm just praying that Hull can get something from the Bolton match, and Newcastle fail to pick up a point against Fulham and Villa. In our favour, Fulham will be tough opposition with 7th still to play for (and Europa), and Villa will hopefully decide that 5th is worth aiming for, and will therefore also be tough nuts to crack.

But I know in my heart that the Geordies will survive. :@

I still think can beat Newcastle. I know Hodgson has said he doesnt want the Europa league but the fans will, and they're in the driving seat for that 7th place. 1 more win and they should be sitting pretty for that spot - it'll be the clubs highest league position ever (I think) and it'll give everyone a massive boost at the club.

They've got us the week after. If they really want 3 points, where do you think they're likely to get them (forgetting about how ****e we are away at Fulham)?

Bolton are in snooze mode. Its Hull's last home game (I think). Must win. No questions about it, its must win because they aint gonna get **** from United away.

But saying that, I did always say I could see the Barcodes staying up by the skin of their teeth if they do

I wouldnt. **** 5th. Get Barcodes in the Championship, we win the FA Cup....best moment in Everton history...FACT.:D

Without wishing to be impolite, that is complete sh1te. I'd be greatly amused to see the skunks despair at being relegated, but I wouldn't want it to impact negatively on Everton in any way - that'd be too high a price to pay.

I don't understand this hostility against Newcastle United. I remember when we were everyone's second favourite team. It seems that the media has created this weird profile of a supposed Newcastle fan who is a glory hunter and wants instant success.

This is a bizarre idea. Out of all of my friends, and reading all the comments on the internet from Newcastle fans, I can't find a single one who matches this profile.

We just want our team to play good football, beat Sunderland and one day (just ONE DAY) win the Carling Cup. It would be wonderful. I would even trade a place in the Premier League for it. Just to once see the Newcastle captain hold aloft a cup. Well, the thought brings a shiver down the spine.

It's impossible for Toon fans to become glory hunters because we haven't had any glory since the UEFA Cup Final of 1969. Long-suffering maybe. Whingers certainly not. Always optimistic but always realistic, we remember when we almost dropped into Division 3.

And by the way, no-one in Newcastle has ever called Keegan or Shearer a "Messiah". That was invented entirely by the media.

PS - call me old-fashioned but I don't hate any football teams, and I always cheer for the English teams in Europe too.
