It's all so silly really. Maybe teams should sue United if they lost to them when Ronaldo was playing, on the basis that similar teams have taken points from United when Ronanldo was injured.

The beauty of the game is that there is never a level playing-field, and during the season, there will always be times when you face disadvantages due to circumstances beyond your control.

The RS should sue Boro for beating them 2.1. As Boro have an infierior side to the RS but the RS lost, which in turned lost them the title, so the roles (as its at the top of the table) are reversed so they surely have grounds to sue? Hypethetical of course.

But if the roles were reversed, ie Barcodes were in the Champs League final and playing Hull fighting for survival, the club, fans etc would do the exact same thing and play a weakened side.

Just because there's something on line the line that can cost a club millions doesn’t mean clubs should be dictated to or be threatened with legal action because of the team the field. Religation doesn’t concern United, the Champions League does. That's their perogative, they're looking out for their best interest and not anyone elses, so I don’t think they'd have ground to sue.

Posted via Mobile Device It's just desparation to retain their Prem status. If Everton were in their position i think most of us on this forum would be grabbing at any straw as well.

As we did in 97-98 when we were moaning about Chelsea who had to play Bolton. There were concerns they would play a weaker side because they had Stuttgart 3 days later in a final.

Posted via Mobile Device you have a better memory than me Dan, is that the season we stayed up by a +1 GD ? Like i said they're simply sh**ing themselves.

Yeah, we stayed up on +5 GD at the expense of Bolton.

Last day of the season we had Coventry, Bolton had Chelsea.

Chelsea had nothing to play for and had a European Final 3 days after the Bolton match so there were concerns they would play a weaker side.

Thankfully, they didn't and Chelsea won 2-0. If they didn't win, we would have went down.

At the end of the day, the three teams who finish on the lowest amount of points deserve to go down no matter what. Newcastle can't go blaming Man Utd when they've only won 7 games all season! That's less than West Brom by the way!

Agreed. I don't blame Newcastle for trying it on, but there is no justification to the argument they are proposing.

United's side will still be tough.

Ferdinand, Rafeal, Evans, Fabio will probably play at the back - 3 of those 4 have played regularly all season. And Ferdinand has to prove fitness if he's going to play in the final its been reported

Fletcher, Park, Nani, Anderson, will be play or be incontention in the midfield, who are senior squad members with plenty of 1st team games under their belt. Fletcher will defo play cos he's not going to Rome.

Strikers will be Tevez, Maceda, and Welbeck, all of who have scored goals in the premiership and have played premiership teams.

Even with the filler kids coming in to plug the holes, that's still probably a mid-level team who Hull would find hard to break down.

I don’t think they'd get 45,000 or fill it, but at least 30,000 each game. And they'll still charge £30 a ticket. Leeds United still charge around £25 a ticket and they're in league 2.

Agree, but we done the same :D

I remember something along those lines, although I was away with the faeries during that sad period of our existence.

Yeah, it's all about what you can get away with when the stakes are high. But Villa will batter them anyway, so it won't matter. If Villa can't get their butts into gear for this last match, in order to save some face and possibly finish 5th, then you've got to wonder what has happened in the dressing room.

Its stupid IMO. Teams should be able to field any team they want within reason. United are playing one of, if not, the best team in the world 3 days later.

I agree wholeheartedly, but from the perspective that I would love to see Barcelona destroy United, I would hope United play all of their starters in the Hull match.

The Villa V Jawdee game is being shown live on SS1 on sunday, and i cannot wait to watch them crumble to defeat and relegation.
