NOLAN? ffs! :( is our expectations that limited? we're Everton FC, not West Brom. At this rate I'll be in Heaven or Hell by the time we become a team worthy of playing against the best in Europe.

You don't have to worry lad, there is no chance of Nolan joining us

I think Nolan's tackle that ended Anichebe's season also ended any chance of him ever coming to us.

Horrible.

Villa have a chance to bring back balance to the universe.

I'd happily take sixth just for the wonderous sight of the bad replica top wearing helmets crying into the same Sky Cameras that used to love them.

You wont be looking down your nose at us for a while again will you, you fat half Scottish gobsh*tes. Sunderland are well sounder.

shame on you for putting your dislike of the skunks above your support for everton! I always want what's best for everton, which in this case is 5th place again. of course, i also want to see the skunks relegated, but for me that would just be a bonus.

Even you saying there is something wrong makes me think you're also a tad deluded about the club. The fact is, Newcastle has never been a successful club. So you being 3 points away from safety isn't actually that surprising. It's just par for the course for a club of Newcastle's stature. You're a big club, a well-supported club, but an unsuccessful one. You're the type of club that looks at home in either the championship or the premier league.

I am not deluded, really. We are up there in the list of most successful clubs (4 league wins and 6 FA Cups) but it's all from so long ago.

I agree we are at home in both divisions. That has been the case for our entire history. We honestly don't take Premier League status for granted. When I first supported the Toon, we were in the 2nd division. We've been back down and back up since. The only day we got to celebrate a trophy was in May 1993 when we won the 1st division, after beating Leicester 7-1. It was a great day that everyone remembers well. When we lost the 1998 and 1999 FA Cup Finals, the city was closed as it welcomed home the team in an open-top bus. After we'd lost. I also took pride in the fact that our fans clapped Arsenal up the steps in 98.

I'd love us to one day win the Championship., hopefully this time next year. We are honestly easily pleased us Geordies.

Now, I'm just off to the beach. It's 24 degrees here in Sydney even though it's nearly winter...:)

What did I say last week? Fulham would do Newcastle, Boro and Hull would get something from their games.

Newcastle cannot lose away at Villa next weekend or they're down End Of. I'm Villa fan next week.

I think gut bombers then is the best way to describe Newcastle. I'm rooting for Villa in this next match also.

Newcastle threatens to sue Man utd if they field a weakened team against Hull.
I'll tell ya... honestly... I will luv it if they field a weakened team . Luv it.".

Anyone know the rules on how many their allowed to rest?

I think the PL did say something about punishing teams if they field weakened teams. But it would be hard to prove and not really fair to United. Any team in their right mind would field a second team given that they face a CL final.

I can understand Newcastle being cross if United did it for other reasons, but in this instance the reason is justifiable.

Anyway, whatever team United put out, it will still be stronger than Hull's.

Its stupid IMO. Teams should be able to field any team they want within reason. United are playing one of, if not, the best team in the world 3 days later.

Could United then sue the FA is they're were forced to play Ronaldo and he broke his leg? Or would Boro and Hull be able to sue Newcastle if Villa put out a weakened side? Its swings and roundabouts.

People are saying its all coming about because of the Sheff Utd thing which doesn’t make sense. United were in a legal battle regarding Carlos Tevez deal, which was dodgy as ****, and Tevez was the one that scored the goals that kept them up. If it was Dean Ashton that popped those goals in, they wouldn’t complain and Pig Face Warnock would have to lick his wounds.

Boro, Hull and Newcastle have themselves to blame for where they are, not other teams. Go down with dignity like West Brom did, not like a bunch of school kids that have taken their ball home because they cant get their way.

Definitely agree with that. For a start neither Boro or Newcastle should be where they are. It's down to poor effort or bad management, or a combination of both (and idiot fans in Newcastle's case). And while Hull might be the third or even second worst team in the PL, they too have no business being in a relegation scrap after the start they had. Talk about taking your foot off the gas pedal too early.

What exactly makes for a weakened Utd team?!...

What if they play the Fa Cup semi-final side? - any complaints would basically mean that these clubs think that Utd threw the cup on purpose, surely that'd open up plenty of room to countersue?!...

Surely if Newcastle or Boro feel they can sue Man Utd for fielding a weakened side if they went down, then just about every team who have been relegated on the last day in recent years has a case because most teams with nothing to play for on the last day don't field their best team. And if they do field their best team, they don't have anything to play for so they are unlikely to be at their very best. Perhaps teams should be sued for not having anything to play for on the last day!!!

It's all so silly really. Maybe teams should sue United if they lost to them when Ronaldo was playing, on the basis that similar teams have taken points from United when Ronanldo was injured.

The beauty of the game is that there is never a level playing-field, and during the season, there will always be times when you face disadvantages due to circumstances beyond your control.
