If they go ... you think it will be a situation where they'll be right back up. Or, will the go the way of Leeds?

Difficult question. My guess is that if they go down, they're fcuked in the short term. I don't see anyone at the club that could turn things around. The chairman is criminally incompetent and the fans are criminally reckless in the behaviour, which subsequently pressurizes the whole club. If they go down, they'll stay down for more than a couple of seasons.

Anyone see the 'Newcastle won't go down because......' Voxpops on SSN earlier?

Newcastle won't go down because..... the squad is too good. HA!

Newcastle won't go down because..... the fans are too passionate and so are the players Double HA!

Absolute tools.

I've never seen a club "too good" to go down that's in the relegation zone.

If you go down, it's simply because you weren't good enough. The table doesn't lie.

They deserve relegation. However, although I can't stand the man, if they had kept hold of Fat Face, I'm pretty sure that they'd be somewhere near to us in the league.

Four managers in a season. What a joke.

Spot on TX. I detest that saying "Too good to go down". I always remember Forest where too good to go down, look where they are now.

I watched the game, thinking that the Toon would give it their all and that the game would be quite interesting. Boy was I wrong - The zebra-coloured couldn't string together five passes and with a midfield with no creativity it doesn't matter if you have good strikers up front - they bloody need the ball to score.
They certainly could do with a spell in the Championship, to get rid of most of the squad. That should leave them with only the ones that aren't there for the money but really want's to play for the club.
I'm thinking that Martins, Owen, Gutierrez, Duff, Guthrie, Nolan, Coloccini, Jose Enrique, Cacapa, Bassong, Viduka, Smith, Gemeri, Beye, Lovenkrands, Gonzales and Xisco will all leave - 17 first team players!
That should leave them with Harper, Taylor, Taylor, Ameobi and a ****load of cash to go back up.
But the most important thing is to get a manager who can build a team and is given the time to do so.

From today's Guardian:
Unfortunately, right now, Newcastle seem better at conjuring moments of crass embarrassment. Just before kick-off on Monday night Graeme Danby, a Geordie opera singer, led an on-pitch rendition of Blaydon Races before crudely patronising the smattering of Portsmouth fans who had made the journey north, a round trip of 800 miles and 18 hours. "Have you come in a ******* car?" bellowed the microphone-wielding Danby before further taunting them with: "You're the Mackems of the south coast."
At least their fans are winners, eh...

I want them to go down. Down and then into administration because they cant afford anything. I want them to implode and drop like a stone. Then we'll see where their cocky fanbase are and where they've gone.

Knowing them, they'll be big swinging dicks throwing their weight around against Crystal Palace and Donny Rovers because they're a "big club".

Shambles and a joke.

This is my prediction. Think Newcastle will avoid the drop. Desperately hope I'm proven wrong though.
