News of Ex Players

A group of fans have now created a banner in his honour which has been tied above the door of The Brick public house on Liverpool's County Road, which is a stone's throw away from Everton's stadium and frequented by fans on matchdays.

One of the fan group told Mail Sport: 'It's time to show that the majority of Everton fans recognise Graeme Sharp for the man he is and player he was. He should always be welcome at our club and without fear of any reprisals.

'He took on a role with the club's board in good faith, he is not responsible for the decisions made at the top that have left the club in a relegation dogfight over the past two years.

'It's ridiculous that he has been targeted and sickening for his safety to have been threatened. He has been a great servant to our club, given us great memories, and we wanted to show our support because he deserves it.

'He's a gentleman and an Evertonian - it's important the current fan base remember that. He's always had the club's best interests in his heart and we want people to welcome him back. We are proud to have his name on the pub wall as we regard him as one of us: an Evertonian. It's a message to say, it's time to move on.'
If he wants to come back he needs to publicly execute kenwright outside st lukes, only then will his loyalty be proven

Who's in this fan group like? Explain yourselves

I really struggle with this view point that he had no responsibility for the running of the club. He was on the board alongside Kenwright. He therefore had responsibility and is involved in decisions being made.

If he isn’t involved and genuinely had no responsibility, it would make me question why he is happy to take money from the club for not doing anything.

"Guilty by association"

If he was such a sweetheart for the fans he'd have faced down the bullsheet headlock accusations. He didn't. Case closed.
