News of Ex Players

Really think it's that simple. Nobody's stopping him buying a ticket, use some of his payoff money if he's that bothered
I certainly agree nothing is stopping him and that’s not how it’s being painted

Ive made my opinions clear on what unfolded but honestly im at the stage were im happy to see him back in the ground . Ownership seems to have been sorted , onwards and upwards I suppose .

Graham Sharp. Would he be welcomed back? He doesn't think so.

Be a shame if he's not part of the 40 year anniversary.
What a context-free hatchet job that "article" is. Sharp was ostracised because he played his part in the blackening of all supporters when he waded into the headlockgate controversy with his "over the top" comment. A made up lie to slander the entire fanbase and here he was throwing fuel on that fire. He knew very well what his carefully chosen words would do. Inflame. He picked his side.

A wonderful player. I, personally, would love to see him back. But let's stop pretending he was an innocent victim of a gang of thugs. Because, whilst that board already portrayed the Everton fanbase as thugs, denying the real reasons for his "banishment" further makes that same hateful claim: that Everton fans are abusive thugs.

….more significant to me is that whilst they patted each other on the back and told everybody what a good job they were doing, that Board mismanaged the club resulting in a significant points deduction. When they left they were given very generous pay-offs.

Fancy words about the clubs strategy and future mean nothing when their actions result in abject failure. I loved Sharp the player, one of my all-time favourites but forever tarnished by his role as a Kenwright stooge.

MEMORY LANE

Everton and Ipswich face off at Portman Road on Saturday, the first meeting between the sides in nearly 23 years. And you have to go even further back to find the last time Everton were victorious against the Tractor Boys, Nick Barmby scoring the only goal in a 1-0 FA Cup win at Goodison Park in January 1999, a game in which Marco Materazzi – who would’ve thought it? – saw red for the home side. In this shot from that tie, Danny Cadamarteri goes all Neo-from-The-Matrix as an impressed Tony Mowbray watches on.

Well said

I read that story by Ian Herbert, there was quite a lot of nonsense in that story. Sharp was at the Grand National meeting during the time he absconded from his duties at Everton and all though very well known nobody accosted him or gave him a hard time, he walked away from Everton with handsome pay cheque while doing nothing of any benefit to the club in his board role. He’s made his bed!

Andy Gray did us a bad one when he seemed to use an offer to take over as manager with us to get a better deal from Sky years ago. That left a lot of bad feeling between him and our support and Sharp did similar when he took a role on the board and was able to sit in the best of seats to watch the match while doing nothing to better our club. Such a shame that two of the team from our greatest years in the 80`s used the club for their own benefit.
