Its silva mate - if it’s not right Wel just sack him
I take my dad to the match, he’s 89. We’ve spent the last twenty years watching Everton select average to poor managers who weren’t going to win anything. For most of these managers it was clear they weren’t going to win anything before we appointed them. I’d like to see us win something before my dad can’t make it to the match! Based on his record in Premier League I can’t see Silva cutting it. Just find it frustrating mate and can’t figure out what the criteria is that we are using to appoint these managers.

In short Everton need to massively up their game on how they recruit managers.

At the minute I’m hoping Brands knows what he is doing and will have final say on future recruitment after Silva.

...lots in the gossip columns about the new manager vacancy;

- The Daily Mail reports Everton are set to appoint Marco Silva as their new manager. They also suggest compensation packages could cost Farhad Moshiri £30m.

- Bournemouth’s ‘Cherry Times’ Weblog are discussing if Eddie Howe would be tempted by an approach from Everton.

- The Daily Mirror report Everton are in advanced talks with Marco Silva’s camp after sacking Sam Allardyce. They suggest nothing contractually stands in the way of Everton appointing their number 1 target.

- The Express say Everton and West Ham are both keen on Silva and quote former Crystal Palace owner, Simon Jordan, who warns Everton they could reap what they sow in pursuing “disingenuous, disloyal slob” Silva.

- Soccersouls Website discusses 3 ideal candidates for the Everton job in Paulo Fonseca, Marco Silva and Gary Rowett. The TransferTavern, however, suggest Everton should try and lure former player, Michel Arteta, back to Goodison.

- ToffeeWeb quote reports from Portugal that Paulo Fonseca has turned down West Ham and has signed a 2 year contract with improved terms at Shakhtar. Apparently, Fonseca and his agent, Jorge Mendes, met with West Ham officials in London on Monday.

- The Liverpool Echo also claim Everton are in advanced talks with Marco Silva.

..bits of blue on Oddschecker (indicating they’ve been backed), for Emery, Moyes and Brendan Rodgers.

As an aside, the odds on Benitez joining West Ham have been slashed.

..it’s just that his odds are shortening with bookmakers on Oddschecker. There was lots of this before Allardyce appointment, Silva is still odds-on favourite. Perhaps the Brands Dutch connection has seen folk putting money on van Gaal.
they worked together before but frankly I'd rather see emery though he may be less interested as we now have a strong Dof and he just enjoyed a fun year of 'helpfulness' at PSG.
