Big Sam's reaction when Niasse scores a last minute winner at the Anfield derby:

The school of science with Fat Sam.

People think that Big Sam is a purveyor of unattractive-but-effective football because he once played a target man at Bolton, but I think that's unfair. At the time Bolton only had one striker (that big lad Kevin Davies) and Big Sam was just making the best of a bad situation.

Later on in Allardyce's spell at Bolton, they played some superb stuff. They even trounced us 4-0 at Goodison when Moyes was still in charge.

I’ve spent an hour or so this morning reading a few Everton articles (sad I know) and this concept of managers getting us keeps cropping up. We need a manager who “gets us” lad, can’t have him he doesn’t “get us”.

I just can’t my head around why it’s so important for a manager to “get us”.
What does getting us even mean??

I can understand us as fans getting the club but I can’t understand the concept of someone with no affiliation to Everton coming in and “getting us” and I don’t see why it should be a consideration when appointing a new manager.

You look around the league and do you think pep gets Man City, do you think Jose gets man united, do you think poch gets spurs because I don’t, they are there to do a job and that job is only valid as long as your doing well, they are not going to invest time getting the clubs when they could be out the door pretty quick.
People saying the likes of Martinez/Moyes got us but if you look closely both screwed us over in the end so did they really “get us”?
Anyway for me personally the new manager could absolutely hate Everton and it wouldn’t matter one bit if he won us things.
Marco silva, Tuchel and a call needs to be made to Ancelotti.
Long post for me this, breaking lurker code need to pipe down an bit. :)

Good question unable to really answer but a manager with some feeling for the club, RM did. Look around us, Guardiola is fitting well with city, Klopp has really bought into our neighbours, Pochettino in Spurs. just a wee example.

Not for me mate, perhaps if it was February and we are bottom of the league. but now. never.

I think your choice of manager reflects how much of a mess you think the club is in.

Personally, I think we are in big trouble. We will soon be in November and we are in the relegation zone with a team that many experts think is extremely unbalanced.

There is talk that Moshiri wants a root and branch review of the way the club is run. Whilst I would support that, right now, for me, the most important thing is getting as far away from the relegation zone as possible.

If things don't work out with Unworthy, I think we should install a manager who will keep us in the Premier League. That probably rules out someone from the continent who is untested. The blue sky thinking can go on in the background, with the club looking to permanently appoint in the summer, a manager everyone can get behind.

From superstar managers to Big Sam the Bung Alardyce.

I think I'd PMSL...then hide for a few years.
It's not really a laughing matter Dave. The guy is the worst possible choice as Everton manager. I would rather have Moyes, Martinez, Smith, Koeman, even Walker back than that fraud.

I can't believe there are fans who would actually welcome his appointment.

Pretty certain it's all just paper talk though, and the fact that he's available.
