So that makes him a good manager for Everton?.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion and mine is very different to yours. He would take the club back 15+ years to the start of the Moyes era. Absolutely want him nowhere near our club.

Allardyce is one of the most forward thinking managers available, way ahead of others in the use of sports science and psychology, and tactically getting the most out of the talents of the players under him.The fact that his managing career has been largely spent performing rescue operations is because of his ability as a manager/coach. His Bolton team with J J Ococha and others played great football.Given the right quality of players, and passionate support, Big Sam could surprise a lot of the doubters.

It's not really a laughing matter Dave. The guy is the worst possible choice as Everton manager. I would rather have Moyes, Martinez, Smith, Koeman, even Walker back than that fraud.

I can't believe there are fans who would actually welcome his appointment.

Pretty certain it's all just paper talk though, and the fact that he's available.
The shocked laughter would subside very quickly mate. I'd be crying if that bulk of wanton corruption turned up.

People think that Big Sam is a purveyor of unattractive-but-effective football because he once played a target man at Bolton, but I think that's unfair. At the time Bolton only had one striker (that big lad Kevin Davies) and Big Sam was just making the best of a bad situation.

Later on in Allardyce's spell at Bolton, they played some superb stuff. They even trounced us 4-0 at Goodison when Moyes was still in charge.

Good morning Mr Allardyce.

That's exactly how I see it.

Never ever liked him though, Ive yet to see any evidence to suggest he had any affection towards us, always talking us down
Hate the guy. Always looking for excuses and never his fault. Biggest sack of spuds on his shoulder in sport. I remember when we beat Bolton early in Moyes career and you could see the envy in his face as he said how lucky we were to have Rooney. Another when he was a TV analyst a couple of seasons ago, I think against Stoke. We had put them to the sword scoring 4, and he said that both clubs were very similar in standing, but we were lucky enough to have Barkley and Lukaku playing for us. (The same Barkley he discarded a year or so later). And don't get me started on last years game at Palace when that cheat tried to get the game stopped because he had cramp.

I really would stop watching us if he was made manager. Absolutely hate the guy.

Couldn't disagree more Steve. I think he's a dinosaur. I've never seen one of his teams play with any sort expansion you seem to be referring to. Any great football from his Bolton days was usually the result of JJs supreme skill which he tended to show 1 game in 5. He would take us back to the glass ceiling days of Moyes. Plus he's a horrible person. Self-centred, entitled, envious, greedy. In fact he's the 7 deadly sins encompassed within one fat frame.

It's a no from me.

Right now, Allardyce doesn't come into consideration for me but if we went another 4-5 league games without a win, he would do.

I'm not confident in the mix of players we have and a struggle could be a real possibility based on what I have seen already.

If it wasn't a concern then I would not have Allardyce at all but if its a salvage operation that's needed, his record is hard to argue against.

Any moral/ethical concerns don't come into it at all for me, he hasn't been convicted of anything AFAIK.

First priority is to move up the table and not be in danger later in the season.

I don't want us to be looking over our shoulder come next February/March.

Let's just hope Unsworth can prove himself at this level.

I'm a troll because I think that we should take a chance on Allardyce, a guy who once managed England?

I remember being told that I was a "bad blue" for criticising Moyes on WSAG.

Now I'm a bad blue for suggesting Allardyce.

FFS

Spot on....'once'...one match only...not more than one....why? Because he's bent to the core. Even Hodgson, McClaren and now Southgate have performed above and beyond Saviour Sam....would you support their inclusion on the Everton 'list'?
And for the record nobody said you were "a bad blue". I didn't even say you were a Blue. Proposing Allardyce, Megson and the like isn't really supporting endearing you to the Forum. If I'm wrong then fine.

Big Sam isn't a required option now but come Christmas he may very well be one.
I am slightly amazed by reports that we are going to make an approach to Tuchel, surely that approach should have been made about an hour after Koeman was sacked? I'm not saying you are offering him the job at that point but surely you are getting the feelers out.
Where has Fonseca disappeared to? Had his own thread a week ago and now isn't mentioned in any conversation?

Self entitlement,envy,greed,ego,......whats he ever done to you? Good man manager, good coach, unfortunately has a rep as a rescuer and not much more ...didn't he get Bolton into or very close to Europe? In any case ,what have you 'seven deadly sins' got to do with his management ability?

Jesus wept. The stats don't lie - every club Allardyce has been at they play the most amount of long balls.
It's dour percentage football, he's good at it, and it's effective to an extent but that brand of football will never be acceptable at Goodison Park.
