I don’t think Dyche has the charisma to raise this battered bunch.
Allardyce I’m sure is on the record as saying he’s not interested any more in club football.
It’s time for the return on a six month contract of The Moyesiah. His last three jobs have all been hospital passes to different degrees, he knows our players and I’m sure he could get enough of a tune out of the defence to keep us up.

Totally agree with this. Rose tinted specs just because Burnley are doing better this year

Not doing that much better in fact this season in reality mate, last season they got 14 from the first 11 games, this nseason they are on 13 after 9 with a home game to newcastle and away trip to saints upcoming, they get a draw and loss then they are sat exactly at the same point as last season.

Also think people are forgetting just how abysmal they where away from home last season as well, this season he's getting lauded purely because they got a couple of big results away from home.

For those wanting him in - hers Burnleys home results this season

1-0 Loss to West Brom
1-0 Win Palace
Loss on Pens Leeds (LC)
0-0 Draw Huddesfield
1-1 Draw West Ham

The test is this. If any of the top 6 lose their manager would Dyche be touted as an acceptable fit?

Nope BUT the media and pundits are all banging the drum about English managers again - they know that none of the big clubs would touch one, so they are trying to get one here instead as the next best thing, a continuation of the plucky little Everton by line.

Reading this thread makes me nauseous, literally. The ONE saving grace with Fat Sam is that he would most likely only be here until the summertime. And, if he has us stay up, we can go after a "bigger name" manager at that point

But, good LORD, our team is trouble. Baines is a shadow of the player he was, Mirallas can't score anymore, Jags and Williams are terrible, our options at LB are a bit dire, we have 2 DM's almost every match but leak goals and we have a 20 year old kid being played as a striker with a 1 in 20 ratio.

Everyone keeps saying "we need to wait until January", when does quality move in January? MAYBE with it being a World Cup year, players of quality on the benches might want to move but I think most of them have already done so.

Whoever gets the job will need a pile of money in January to fix the back door of the team and the top end - we better starting thinking about very expensive loans in addition to new players.

The board have a massive job in front of them.

I agree on that and I think Allardyce in particular would want to see the colour of Moshiri’s money in that regard. Getting the right manager doesn’t fix the issue on its own without a targeted but big spend.

I shudder to think at what Walsh’s recommendations are - if there is money to spend it should be left to the manager alone.
