The big worry I have with this squad is that there isn't anybody who is going to get a tune out of it.

Let's not pretend that Koeman sat idly by and made the same mistakes every week. In truth he tried lots of things. The formation changed countless times (sometimes within the same game), he brought Kenny in, Klassan and Sandro were in and out, Williams was dropped, Davies started games..
All the ideas people had, he tried it. Yes, he even dropped Rooney and guess what, we were still crap.

The only thing I wanted to see more of was Davies playing with two wingers. Well Unsworth tried that and we saw what happened.

This is a deeply unbalanced squad with no top level forward, ageing defenders and its suffering from a chronic lack of confidence.

Turning it around is going to be one hell of a difficult job.

Everton still aren't a serious club with real ambition, the list of candidates for the managers job says it all.

None of them except Ancelotti who is a long shot at best would have a prayer at getting a job at any of the current top 6 clubs if they needed a manager.

Big Sam? lol
Dyche? lol
Unsworth? lol

Those are all second rate mid table club appointments for a second rate mid table club, that could easily be a shortlist for Crystal Palace, Swansea or West Brom manager.

Totally agree, Everton aren't a serious club because that's moshiri's list isn't it? It's not some jarg rubbish you've pulled off a betting site? That's actually moshiri's list.

You guys make me embarrassed to be an Evertonian, deary me. Saying we're not even a mid table club because of a bad couple of months? That season Chelsea finished mid table, do you think they'd all of a sudden become mid table fodder? Or Leicester's status changed to part of Europe's elite?

Jesus, give your heads a wobble and remember exactly who you're supporting. We haven't had 3 years worth of 16th place finishes you utter cry babies.

I don't know mate, I think you might be right but playing the same types of players all on the pitch at the same time didn't help Koeman, and If anything he made too many changes too frequently and nobody knew where they stood.

For me, we are badly hampered at the back. Williams has turned into the ghost of football past, Jags isn't getting any better and as a result of the lull in the confidence, Keane has got dragged into the mess. For me, the first thing to do is to pick a partnership and stick with it.

Get Sandro or Rooney up top and give them a run of games there so the team know where they stand. Same goes for central midfield, pick a pairing and stick with it. be it Davies and Gana or any other combination.

Gylfi must play, Ditto Vlasic at the moment. He offers far more offensively than Lennon and Mirallas.

I am not having we have a squad full of bilge. Klaassen got 20 last season, albeit the Dutch League isn't great, Sandro 15 in La Liga, Gylfi got 10 goals for Swansea, so I can see where Koeman was going when he said he wanted to spread more goals around the team.

It's all fine margins in football and confidence is a massive part of it.

I agree. I think Unsworth has as good a chance as anybody to turn things around.

Yeah it's a fair point he did try things but there seemed to be something rooted deeper in the players psyche. Every single Koeman side this season (barring maybe Hajduk 1st half) was extremely slow moving the ball. They also never seemed to press as a team or in any organised way. If the intensity isn't there frankly it doesn't matter what formation you play, the opposition can defend against you better.

...yep, it’s looking increasingly like we have problems regardless of who plays. You would hope, though, that there is enough for a manager to at least make us hard to beat.

Odds on across the board now with the bookies.

Welcome to Everton football club Sean.

Catterick, Kendall, Dyche.

One of those Kopite banners with the heads of their best managers silhouetted would be nice with that on it
