I have a weird feeling we are waiting on the final World Cup Qualifiers incase a international manager comes available.

It would be so Everton for a left field appointment at the minute
Haha I'd disagree. Simply because we tens to hire managers from down the road when we have a big decision to make ;)

In the cold light of day, nobody can argue that Everton have had a disappointing season so far, but I don't think it has been as disastrous as most pundits and EFC fans make out.

Take out the matches against the "Top Six", and the record reads 10 points from 6 games - won 3 drawn 1 lost 2 goals for 7 goals against 7.

Southampton, who finished 8th last season, have 13 points from 11 games, but have only played Man United (0-1) of the "Top Six".

At the halfway stage of 19 games, I expect Everton to be at least 3/4 points ahead of Southampton and probably 8th or 9th.
Agree mate. Crap as it’s been if we can build on last week and beat palace and get something at Southampton and beat Huddersfield at home we could be in top half of table . For me now I’d keep Rhino in the interim and see how results go ... not need for panic and fat Sam yet or ever . We have made bad calls on managers so let’s not make another !

Don't think we should attempt to attract another teams manager mid season. Either keep Unsworth till the summer or go all out for Tuchel IMO.

We haven't got a hope in hell of attracting anyone like simeone here , I'm sorry but we aren't getting these managers. It's essentially mata/witsel type of stories when we end up with bolasie and Valencia.

So personally I'm not accepting unsworth as temp manager because the plan is to bring in a high profile manager in the summer because it just won't he happening. No good managet in their right mind would take the job. Complete rebuild job a year after one was already done? An impossible task to do that and compete as they would want to. No matter how much money was thrown at them.

That is the other worrying factor here, we need a whole new defence, midfielders sold and bought to play a different way and have at least 2 strikers here for the season. Thst could be another 6-7 players needed between now and September 1st. I can't see it happening , especially without a cash cow to sell to pay for them all.
Did you not watch panorama mate ? We’re loaded !

No one thinks we really do have a chance mate. At least not that I've seen.

It is the fact we have been so terrible against the “top six” which makes this season such a car crash.

That is where we thought we would be campaigning and competing.....especially after spending so much money in the summer.

Sorry, there is no way this horrible first three months of the season can be dressed up and sanitised.

Still......it is not too late to stage a winter rally and turn it round to an extent ;)

I'd like to hope come the summer we will see evidence of this! Haha haha

I'm laughing because i have no faith. Seriously though this summer will be the first one without a player to sell for transfer funds so it will be interesting to see what policy we adopt for it. Perhaps a chance to see this wealth because the players that need replacing aren't going to sell for much

This long period of silence by the board means it's obviously a manager who is currently employed so I would imagine it's a first choice of Simeone (unlikely to come) or more probably and practically Silva.

If it was Tuchel it would have been done by now I think.

The likes of Allardyce, and Dyche do not move the club forward one inch.

Unsworth is too inexperienced and would be a decision based on sentiment only.

Personally I would go for Silva over all the candidates mentioned, and no Silva is not another Martinez, he sets up his teams with far more pace. Martinez had some good points but there was far too much over passing which allowed defences to get back in position. Not to mention being naive in defence. Silva Is far more Tactically astute.

Or they’re just waiting to see if we best Palace to decide whether to give it Unsworth until the summer.

This is not an attempt to defend Koeman who frankly had already decided he was on a loser this season given the lack of strategically needed signings. He should have made the best of what he had and he can not escape that signings he clearly rooted for have been by and large average to turd.

But the point stands the board and wider management team (I.e. Walsh) played a role in all of this and have contributed to an unbalanced squad. They also were very happy to throw Koeman under a bus. If I were a manager looking in I would have reservations.
