I'd like to hope come the summer we will see evidence of this! Haha haha

I'm laughing because i have no faith. Seriously though this summer will be the first one without a player to sell for transfer funds so it will be interesting to see what policy we adopt for it. Perhaps a chance to see this wealth because the players that need replacing aren't going to sell for much

Worth nowhere near what you would value them at mate sadly.

Ross is off for 20 million due to 6 months left , gueye perhaps 30 inflated but can't see him moving and Davies still a fair few years away from being poached from us

You would like to hope the club would be in a position by the time Davies really comes good that we would be overcharging a rival rather than feeding them. Who knows?

If we're putting Simeone on the list, why don't we just put Guardiola, Mourinho, Conte and Allegri on there as well?

There is literally no chance we can expect Simeone to come here. He could virtually walk into any of the top 10 club sides in the world if a vacancy arose. We'd need to be a regular CL side before we can go looking for managers of his reputation.

Even someone like Tuchel (who gets my vote from the limited pool suggested in the poll) I'd consider to be on the borderline of fantasy.

Yeah tbf, but they would pull in some funds and we could then claim we bid 60m for player X and didn't get them etc.

The everton transfer merrygoround.

New manager needs to sort out the defence, heck, the whole team.

I think Tuchel would be a realistic appointment.

I previously read that he was only interested in teams with CL football. Has he recently suggested different? He would be in the fantasy/realism borderline in terms of appointment. And I do fear that our squad is currently completely unsuited to his style without a major overhaul, so perhaps a summer appointment would be better.

No such thing as bad puplicity here. ..this clearly is intentional media spin created by the man himself.

A guide to Simeone's tactics...

Could almost be talking about Dyche in this guide tactics wise. Simeone has done a great job at Athletico and definitely has his own style, but over the years he's had some very good attacking players to make his counter attacking football work. If he was David Simonsen and using these tactics at an English team, would be fans be keen on him?

There's an art in defending as a team, just as there is attacking and I find both aspects interesting to watch. I would be very happy if Simeone was our next manager, however unlikely, but maybe someone along the lines of Dyche may not be such a bad choice.

In no way am I saying Dyche is as good as Simeone, but if Dyche had the quality of players Simeone has, then where would Burnley be now.

Just a thought I had when reading this article.

The poll. I wouldn't have Allardyce or Hiddink on it at all. Not even going to dignify some other names the media/bookies have been throwing around by even mentioning them. But would add a couple of wild cards. Alphabetically:

Dyche
Howe
Nagelsmann
Michael O'Neill
Silva
Simeone
Tuchel
Unsworth

The Times are claiming that Silva has turned us down. :-(

DYCHE IS NEW FRONTRUNNER TO LAND EVERTON JOB

Sean-Dyche.jpg

The Sunday Times report that sources close to the Everton boardroom claim an approach for Burnley boss Dyche is now imminent after Watford manager Marco Silva bowed out of the chase.

It is said that Dyche was Everton’s original target when they sacked Koeman three weeks ago but other candidates emerged, with chairman Bill Kenwright keen for caretaker boss David Unsworth to make a strong case and Moshiri considering more glamorous names.

Everton would have to pay significant compensation to land Dyche after he extended his Burnley contract last season.
