I'm not concerned by the time being taken. It means we're being careful in finding the right person. It's not as if somebody could come in tomorrow and analyse the squad immediately; all the players will be on their holidays now anyway. I hope none of the out-of-contract players are offered extensions, and I also hope any new manager realises, quickly, that we need to get rid of Niasse, McGeady and Kone as soon as possible. Then, with a lot of money freed up in wages, our biggest ever transfer budget and a massive TV deal contributing even more money, he can take stock of what's required and start filling the holes in the squad. It doesn't matter who it is, he'll have players he has had his eye on for his previous team, and will no doubt try and bring some of his best players with him too if possible. It'll all be fine.

I like the cut of your jib sir, common sense, calm heads, and positivity are the order of the day following last seasons disaster. getting the appointment spot on is vital. As long as it's done by the time the euros are up and running we'll be fine.

Is that FDB on Sportscene (BBC One Scotland)? Wearing a blue jacket?

Edit: It's Ron. They do look rather alike! :p

Rather see Rooney lift his last trophy for United before he comes home in the summer..

And Pardew is a utter weapon.
Can't make my mind up if it would be a great sign of intent, or abit like when that Thai bloke took Robinho to city.... But I'm beginning to think I may be abit of a cynic

I think we are after Koeman, I know the press have dismissed him as a potential Everton manager as he wants to stay at Southampton until the Arsenal job becomes available. De Boer may well be second choice.
