In this day and age I wouldn't rule anything out until it is done and dusted and officially announced.

possibly the press are pushing for that one as it suits their agenda, as others have said I'd be amazed if Mourinho didn't already know if he was taking over at utd, but as he hasn't ruled us out according to solid info on here, I would the utd situation is not clear cut just yet

I'm not concerned by the time being taken. It means we're being careful in finding the right person. It's not as if somebody could come in tomorrow and analyse the squad immediately; all the players will be on their holidays now anyway. I hope none of the out-of-contract players are offered extensions, and I also hope any new manager realises, quickly, that we need to get rid of Niasse, McGeady and Kone as soon as possible. Then, with a lot of money freed up in wages, our biggest ever transfer budget and a massive TV deal contributing even more money, he can take stock of what's required and start filling the holes in the squad. It doesn't matter who it is, he'll have players he has had his eye on for his previous team, and will no doubt try and bring some of his best players with him too if possible. It'll all be fine.
