Was feeling somewhat positive until I read this. It raises a good point.

If the future is so bright at EFC and if there is so much money to spend, why is De Boer (Moyes doesnt count) the only one expressing desire for the job? Could it really be just a matter of other managers remaining quiet and reserved to appease their current clubs/fans?

Well Emery has just won his third successive Europa League so it was unlikely he would give up CL for us. Mourinho was always a pipe dream, Koeman would basically side stepping since I'm guessing we'll have similar aims to Southampton next season and as far as I know they are the only ones deemed to have said anything about us.
The future is bright but if you're managing in the Champions League it wouldn't be your first choice to come manage Everton when we can't even offer Europa League

Although it's incredibly frustrating, I can't help but admire the club's ability to do it's business behind closed doors. There was not a squeak about Mr Moshiri until the deed was done and it's the same with the quest for a manager. The media have had to resort to making stuff up (M***s, Hughes, etc) or nicking stuff from Twitter or forums.

Good work, Everton! ;)

I'm calm.. Watching the Red Sox and knocking a few back.. I just see the morning news saying moyes has been contacted... Just makes me think in the morning of who they are actually trying to get in or if the board keeps getting stumped with canadates..

You've got to remember, Everton sank very low before Moyes was appointed and steadied the ship - took us as far as he could in his 11 years. But we weren't that much more of an attractive prospect when he left - he'd done a good job with limited resources and was paid well by the end of it but there was ultimately no investment there.

Now we have the resources to compete, and bring a gun to a gunfight or whatever lame analogy you'd care to sound off. It is a role that pays well and is backed with investment to install a manager's vision; an attractive one.

It is very important that we get this appointment right, and I am very happy with most of the names being bandied about - again, think back to several years ago when we were last shopping for a gaffer...

However... what are you expecting exactly? For people to start mouthing off under contract at their clubs and throw their hat in the ring?

Do people not have enough imagination to believe that under new stewardship we are taking careful steps to get the right man and the patience to get on with their lives without cryarsery - i.e. that the business is under wraps because that's the way to competently do it?

Moyes/Kenwright is a closed chapter - the new one is with Moshy and his main man to-be, along with whoever wants in on the dream.
