Would be great if we could close it out by Friday.

Said all along that Emery would be a terrific appointment, certainly the most ambitious in our history.

Agree with Esk at this stage - silence bodes well.

We shouldn't take the silence so far today as a negative, in fact it is the opposite. When things are heading to a close then the talk stops, and the people involved in the deal focus entirely on the task ahead.

Seen this happen many times in other businesses.

Are you able to substantiate that things are in fact heading to a close or is it a case that they might be heading........

Surely it has to hit the media sooner or later? Can we expect it on the backpages in the next few days?

I agree Esk old son, it must be the case no matter how unnerving it can be for the fans. My concern is the potential throttling of blue tradition if this new potential structure goes through it could involve the loss of jobs with the likes of Rhino, Dunc and Sheeds being replaced by Spanish imports. The director of football title has had many notable failures, it appears to add an extra structure helping to distance the owner from day to day involvement creating a remote unapproachable figure making the ultimate decisions. If such an individual is needed Joe could easily do the job and help protect our traditions for the future.

Whilst we may enjoy the coming years storm cones should remain as so many slips and snags exist including on field failure bring Moshiri to the point of pulling out like Warner has at Villa

Well, not based on fresh information no, but the positive noises from yesterday combined with so far a lack of any further information usually indicates you're in the end game - particularly as it was thought earlier in the week a conclusion would be drawn this week.

Good to see you posting again mate, I hope all is well with you ;)

Hi mate, we've been discussing the progress much of the afternoon. Sorry to do this, but I need to ask you a couple of questions.

You said you were going to the CL final but we know you didn't. You just said in the post above you were in a cab from the airport but again you were posting from the same IP as you were on Saturday night, a domestic broadband account.

What's going on? There's no need to embellish your posts particularly as you seem to have good data.

We like to trust the people who are providing information, and as I say your information is good - that's why you're getting a chance. But cut out the BS otherwise you're gone, we don't want people to be misled here.

137 likes so far, is this the most liked post in the history of GOT?

It was phenomenal to be fair.

Expect the likes record to be doubled when The Esk finally comes in with the 'Its done' post tomorrow ;)

Hi @The Esk, could you please just write the following:

"Hi everyone. After an intense three-week search, I can confirm Unai Emery has been appointed Everton manager on an initial four-year contract, while his Sevilla associate Monchi has been appointed to the role of sporting director with immediate effect. They are drawing up transfer targets as I type."

As soon as you do, Chris Beesley will ctrl+c/ctrl+v it onto The Echo website, where the national media will quickly pick it up. At that point everyone will be too polite to demur and we'll have a new management team.

Anything else come up on Monchi, Esk?

Ah the George W. Bush technique. It's an oldie but it just might work.
