Apart from winning the League Cup of European football i.e. the one the big teams don't care about (albeit 3 in a row), what has Emery done to warrant such ridiculous admiration? How is his league form against the big teams etc?

winning three european trophies in a row is kind of a big deal mate, just because this country turns it's nose up at the Europa doesn't mean the rest of europe does.

Interesting that its all stemming from the dutch press. Very quiet/denial from local media on both sides.

Koemans agent leaking a final warning to Soton to up their offer now or he'll walk?

Him and Monchi would be brilliant. Emery is also clearly a brilliant coach but his league positions arent anything special compared to Koeman. If either come I'd be pleased

I'm going to stick my head on the block and predict Emery.

Before Koeman went on holiday they agreed (Everton and Koeman) that they would speak when he returned.
Then Old Emery boy flashed his know how and Moshiri likes it.
Moshiri being a business man and a man of his word realises that he made a promise with Koeman that they would speak after his holiday and so he stands by his word.
In the meantime that Monchi dude has had a few words with Moshiri and said fcuk Koeman, take me and Dracula, the dream team, and so this talk with Koeman is nothing but a smokescreen because Everton made this promise and need to do the right thing.

Raise your hand if you agree.

Monchi & Ronald Koeman

Everton want to team Ronald Koeman with renowned Sevilla sporting director Monchi in an ambitious twist to their search for a new manager.

The Blues have renewed hope of luring Southampton boss Koeman to Goodison and are pushing hard to prise Monchi from Seville.

They are prepared to offer the Dutchman in the region of £6m-a-year to take the job, and won't blink at the prospect of paying the £3.8m it would require to buy Monchi out of his contract at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium.

Koeman arrives home from holiday last night, and reports emerged from Holland this morning claiming that him and agent Rob Jansen were due on Merseyside to talk terms later today.

That is understood to be wide of the mark however, with both Everton chairman Bill Kenwright and majority investor Farhad Moshiri based in London.

London-based Dutch TV correspondent Tim De Wit's tweet
It will remain a challenge to convince first-choice Koeman that his future lies at Goodison, with the possibility of a shot at the Arsenal job on the horizon if he stays at St Mary's and maintains the Saints upward trajectory in the Premier League.

But it seems his head has been turned by the scale of Moshiri's ambition, with the Iranian billionaire determined to make statements of intent in his managerial appointment and subsequent activity in the transfer market this summer; when world-class names will be targeted with a huge budget.

I for one would be happy with the combination of Monchi and Koeman. I get the impression that Sevilla's success over the last few years has been down to Monchi more than Emery, but that's just from what I've heard. Can't say I've ever sat through a full 90 minutes of a Sevilla game apart from the Europa League Final so I can't really comment on Emery's tactical ability compared to Koeman's.

  1. who else doe this Rob Jansen represent as an agent? that twitter post makes out he is on route to Liverpool not necessarily koeman. Does he represent DeBoer or Overmars?

Just a quick question, did Emery turn down our initial bid or our only bid?
Do we not negotiate in these contract negotiations?
Everton: Here is the contract we have spent 2 weeks putting together. We hope you find it satisfactory
Emery: No
Everton: Okay tara! thanks for lookin.........who's next
It would explain why it has taken so long

35 games at home unbeaten in La Ligua with Sevilla for one thing.

SOME THEN = 4 days ago thought a MONCHI was an ALDI kids crisp.

SOME NOW = convinced we can't move on as a club unless the MOSH brings in the MONCH and pairs him with the KOOEY.

It's weird supporting us sometimes innits...
