Does that mean you can't explain it/don't actually have an excuse? If not, please do give an actual answer.
No, it's actually the answer. First season success was down to the sprinkling of Moyes' defensive magic dust still on the defence. The last two seasons the dust just isn't on them anymore.

Strange though that Moyes' defensive qualities failed him at his next two clubs. He probably ran out of magic dust.

So you have no excuse for Bobby's joke of a defense the past two seasons. Thanks for clarifying.

Genuinely enjoy reading your posts & think you talk a lot of sense but seriously look at what he did to there academy.

No doubt he would improve us short term but If we are in the position to appoint a new manager it must be a pre-requisite that they understand the need to continue the great work Moyes did setting this up & roberto for all his faults has continued. Without it I really do fear for our future.

Thank you .
I fear for our future now to be honest.

We don't want youngsters breaking through to finish mid table every year winning nothing .

We need trophies. We need to start thinking like a top club again . It starts at the very top and I pray we get new owners, a new manager and a new direction. Starting with the manager.

Duncan Ferguson as the interim manager untill the end of the season and lets see how that one will work out.

We wouldn't even have to pay off Bobby in that case.

The simple facts are that we've gone from being defensively solid to as porous as a sponge, over the 2 1/2 years of his tenure.

Given the facts, it's fairly apparent that as time has elapsed the previous defensive solidity - achieved by a massive focus on clean sheets.......has continued to diminish, as Mr 'not arsed about clean sheets' sprinkled his own fairy dust.

52 goals conceded in 42 games with Sociedad=1.23 goals a game

15 clean sheets.

The attack was the problem, the defending was very good.
