Thanks mate.

Being realistic an appointment above Koeman's level, Mourinho, Simeone, and even perhaps Emery whilst we all hoped for it and there was genuine interest from Emery, was too great a stretch given where the club has found itself after years of no investment and the onfield performance of the last two years.

Moshiri's plans have obviously excited Koeman, if we can get Monchi alongside then we've got something special to help us fulfill our ambitions.

I think people are forgetting the damage that has been done to the squad by Martinez - it's gone backwards during his tenure. Some like Stones/Barkley have looked totally out of sorts but worse than that is the shocking fitness levels. The ship needs steadying, the squad needs sorting out, we need quality reinforcements. While we were all dreaming about the likes of Mourinho, Simeone, Emery etc - Everton is a major rebuilding job - not for the feint hearted (perhaps this is where Emery lost his bottle?).

It's not going to happen overnight, but if this season we can make headway into the European places then that's a good start and a solid platform to build on. Moshiri has obviously seen something in Koeman that we haven't - it's his gig, we're along for the ride. New manager (and probably a DoF), new stadium in the early planning stages - it's exciting for the future. Get behind him and (more importantly) get behind the team. Martinez is history - we move on ;)

Imagine the fume when Southampton hires Moyes and they stroll into Goodison and beat us......

That said, if we couldn't get Emery then Koeman is a solid choice.
This is how I see it. The possibility of Emery (& Monchi) got my attention. Nervous but potentially explosive choice. We don't know what happened there. Did he reject our offer, did we move to Koeman once we knew he could be interested. Who knows.
Koeman, as you say, is a solid choice. Might be a bit 'safe' but after the experience of last season under Martinez, it might not be a bad option right now.

From Saints Web

I think their 'Guan' or 'k,billy' equivalent has said it's done. (not sure on the history of the poster tbh).

But the fact some of t heir fans are coming out with garbage like

''Underwhelmed''
''Chance to make a statement. We failed''

Seriously, who the **** do they think they are? Get a little bit of money and they all get excited. They actually thought Simeone or Jose were realistic. Wake up toffee's.

I would also say it sends out a pretty big message to the media if it happens, plucky little Everton have just stolen a manager off a team that has European football next season thanks to the lromiserver of big wages and traanger funds, the media will actually pick up their ears and see we mean business.

thiink it would have sent out a bigger message by taking sevilla's boss off them, but get your point. Taking monchi off them would be a massive massive statement though, massive fingers crossed on that.

if koeman is appointed I will be pleased. had money on him 3 weeks ago at a good price. But most of all he is a winner and has a winning mentality. tactically flexible coach and hopefully his name with ours will be able to attract the players we need.
